Description

Job Overview and Responsibilities

Serves as the main product support manager for United's Flight Training department. Responsible for program oversight and ownership of United's Training Management System, Qualification Management System, and other associated flight training products. Manage all aspects of Flight Training integrations in conjunction with Digital Technology between internal and external United Airlines systems. Understands key Flight Operations business drivers in relation to technology updates, support, and system modernization efforts. Responsible for oversight of Pilot Qualifications including management of the FAA Pilot Records Database information. Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager - Pilot Qualifications.
• Maintain and manage oversight of United's Training Management System, Qualification Management System, and other associated flight training products. This includes serving as a business subject matter expert for all related Flight Operations systems and acting as a team lead for initiatives with internal work groups and external vendor
• Coordinate, oversee, and provide business support on the planning, execution, and delivery of development projects related to pilot training. This includes constructing detailed business requirements documents (BRD), conducting user-acceptance testing (UAT), and coordinating with United's project management office (PMO) to ensure effective communication with timely and successful deployments on initiative
• Manage and oversee the business' responsibility in modernization efforts and enhancements of related software within the Flight Training department. This includes providing feedback and business oversight of future products/processes and long-term strategic planning
• Provide support for flight training tools, initiatives, projects, and system integrations ensuring their effective use, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. This includes conducting regular quality assurance audits for system and program integrity, project prioritization exercises, and conducting regular strategy sessions with stakeholder
• Provide oversight and management of Pilot Qualifications personnel
• Responsible for development and maintenance of FAA Pilot Records Database (PRD) information
• Ensures United is compliant with FAA PRD regulatory requirements by auditing and regularly actioning application program interface (API) updates with Information Technology and external vendor
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Information Technology, Project Management, or related field
• 5+ years of related experience
• Product management and/or product ownership skill
• Information Technology product and software development knowledge and skill
• Ability to interface directly with program developers on the construction, design, and development of IT programs and system
• Ability to develop automation workflows, dashboards, or automation systems using PowerBi, Power Automate, or similar system
• Ability to develop, prepare, and communicate process documents and detailed briefs for wide-spread audience
• Ability to effectively prioritize time and resources to complete tasks strategically and efficiently
• Ability to work under strict deadline
• Skilled with Microsoft Office suite
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

• Knowledge of 14 CFR 121 Air Carrier Operation

• Knowledge of Instructional Systems Design
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) product
• Ability to program or develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) products for business use
