Manager, Fleet PartsPosition SummaryStandard Operations Position. Lead a high-performing fleet parts organization across multiple locations, functions, or commodities while driving the efficient, cost-effective, and reliable supply of parts. Ensure standardization of parts processes, inventory optimization, vendor performance, and material availability to support fleet operations. Assure safe, reliable, and compliant parts operations while driving continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. Drive attainment of corporate and business unit strategies, goals, objectives, and key inventory and supply chain performance metrics.
Essential Responsibilities- Safety Leadership: Provide visible safety leadership and actively contribute to the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of a strong, sustainable safety culture in fleet parts operations. Drive real-time safety accountability through warehouse audits, safe material handling practices, facility inspections, training, and incident review processes.
- Business Optimization & Strategy: Evaluate parts organization performance based on inventory accuracy, fill rates, cost control, and service level metrics. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management, procurement strategies, stocking levels, and vendor performance. Drive standardization of parts processes across all locations.
- Operational Effectiveness: Provide direct leadership over parts operations including inventory control, warehousing, procurement, and distribution. Ensure accurate demand planning, stocking strategies, and parts availability to support fleet maintenance and operational uptime. Maintain strong oversight of parts flow, cycle counts, obsolescence management, and system accuracy. Remove barriers impacting parts availability and operational efficiency.
- Talent Management: Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing parts professionals. Establish clear expectations, provide coaching and development opportunities, and manage performance effectively. Drive employee engagement and ensure team capabilities align with operational needs. Support and manage labor relations including union agreements, grievances, and performance management.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with Fleet Operations, Maintenance Managers, Finance, Procurement, and external suppliers. Collaborate across business units to align inventory strategies with operational needs. Act as the primary escalation point for parts-related issues impacting operations and customer satisfaction.
- Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, inventory controls, financial standards, and regulatory requirements. Oversee proper documentation, audit readiness, and adherence to internal controls related to inventory accuracy and procurement practices. Support compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and transportation regulations.
Minimum Requirements- Five or more years of experience in fleet parts management, supply chain, inventory management, logistics, or a related field
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of three years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience managing inventory systems, procurement processes, and parts operations
- Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance parts, supply chain best practices, and inventory control methods
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive performance metrics, and implement process improvements
- Experience working within union labor environments preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to participate in on-call support during escalated operational needs
- Valid driver's license required
Preferred Requirements- Certification in Supply Chain Management, APICS, or Fleet Management
- Experience with enterprise inventory systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to fleet operations, including DOT, OSHA, and environmental compliance

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $97,600.00 to $159,100.00 per year
