UVAHealth is searching for a Fixed Asset Manager to lead the fixed asset accounting functions for the University Medical Center and Community Health practices. This position will lead a team to ensure that acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliation of fixed assets are managed effectively and in alignment with policies, federal regulations, and accounting standards. This position is responsible for maintaining appropriate internal controls while supporting process improvements, system optimization, accurate reporting of capital assets, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead the team that is responsible for the fixed asset accounting function, including capitalization, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff on the fixed asset accounting team, including performance management and staffing decisions.
- Ensure the fixed asset subledger reconciles to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal control requirements.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Budget, and Project Teams to track capital projects (CIP), ensuring timely capitalization.
- Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations related to fixed assets.
- Ensure fixed asset physical inventories and periodic impairment reviews are done consistently and timely.
- Support external audits by providing schedules, analyses, and supporting documentation.
- Develop and implement process improvements to streamline asset management and reporting.
- Serve as the expert on capitalization policy by evaluating transactions, providing guidance to the operational departments, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policy.
- Prepare and analyze fixed asset-related reports for management decision-making.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
Experience: 6+ years of relevant professional experience to include 2+ years of formal managerial experience required.
Licensure: None.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Education: Master's degree in a related field
Experience: GASB experience preferred
Licensure: CPA
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
The pay range for this role is $86,049.60 - $135,718.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
