Position Summary

The Manager, Financial Systems and Policy oversees the strategy, operation, and continuous improvement of the organization's financial systems while ensuring financial policies are current, compliant, and consistently applied. This role acts as the bridge between Finance, IT, and business units to ensure financial data integrity, process efficiency, and strong internal controls.

The position plays a key role in advancing corporate initiatives such as multi-year budgeting, service-based budgeting, and financial planning modernization, while driving continuous process improvement across the division.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Systems Management
  • Lead the administration, configuration, and optimization of core financial systems such as ERP platforms, budgeting tools, and reporting systems.
  • Oversee system upgrades, integrations, data migrations, and testing cycles.
  • Partner with IT to ensure system security, access controls, and data governance.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, workflows, and user guides.
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend enhancements to improve automation and efficiency.

Financial Policy Development & Governance
  • Develop, update, and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ensure policies align with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.
  • Support implementation of multi-year and service-based budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Conduct periodic policy reviews and risk assessments.
  • Provide guidance to departments on policy interpretation and compliance.

Process Improvement & Optimization
  • Analyze end-to-end financial processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline workflows and strengthen controls.
  • Implement best practices for financial operations, reporting, and data management.


Stakeholder Support & Training
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for system users, troubleshooting issues and coordinating solutions.
  • Deliver training programs for new and existing users on financial systems and policies.
  • Collaborate with Finance leadership to support strategic planning, reporting, and operational needs.

Reporting & Analytics
  • Oversee the development of dashboards, financial reports, and analytics tools.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial data across systems.
  • Support audit activities by providing system and policy documentation.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) is mandatory.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in financial systems management, financial operations, or accounting.


Required Skills/Knowledge
