This is 100% remote position. CHLA requires a primary residence in California prior to start date.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Financial Performance & Transformation Manager goes beyond traditional financial analysis by serving as an internal performance improvement leader focused on advancing enterprise financial and operational performance. Leveraging advanced analytics, strategic finance principles, and cross-functional collaboration, the incumbent partners with executives, physicians, and operational leaders to identify opportunities, establish targets, evaluate outcomes, lead transformative initiatives, and drive accountability for achieving sustainable organizational and financial results.

The Manager combines strategic finance, performance improvement, project leadership, and operational partnership to ensure that enterprise initiatives produce measurable and sustainable results. This role provides the financial rigor, analytical expertise, and leadership necessary to support transformational change across the health system.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

Required:
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare finance, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), decision support, performance improvement, management consulting, strategy, healthcare operations, or related analytical functions.
  • Minimum of 3 years leading complex cross-functional initiatives, projects, or teams with demonstrated accountability for achieving measurable financial and operational outcomes.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership, operational leaders, physician leaders, and departmental stakeholders to drive performance improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and presenting analyses, recommendations, and business cases to senior leadership and executive audiences.

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting large healthcare systems, academic medical centers, physician enterprises, or integrated delivery networks.
  • Experience within academic medical centers, children's hospitals, or large integrated health systems.
  • Prior experience with management consulting firms, healthcare advisory firms, or internal consulting organizations.
  • Experience leading enterprise transformation, turnaround, or operational excellence programs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Advanced ability to lead financial and operational performance improvement initiatives and drive measurable organizational results.
  • Strong strategic finance, financial modeling, forecasting, and business case development skills with the ability to evaluate complex business issues.
  • Ability to identify, prioritize, and quantify enterprise opportunities related to growth, expense management, productivity, and margin improvement.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders, physicians, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish performance targets, accountability frameworks, and KPI structures that align organizational objectives with operational execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, facilitate difficult conversations, and drive accountability without direct authority.
  • Strong project and change management skills with experience leading complex initiatives from planning through implementation and benefit realization.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics, business intelligence tools, dashboard development, and performance reporting, including Power BI and Excel.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into strategic insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving healthcare environment.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field.

Preferred:
  • Master's degree preferred (MBA, MHA, MPH, MS, or equivalent).


Pay Scale Information

$138,528.00-$188,398.08

Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements. About Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

Children's Hospital Los Angeles is a nationally ranked, freestanding acute care children's hospital in the East Hollywood district of Los Angeles, on Sunset Boulevard at the corner of Vermont Avenue. The hospital has been academically affiliated with the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California since 1932 and the hospital features 401 pediatric beds. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to infants, children, teens, and young adults generally aged 0–21 throughout California and the west coast.
