Full Job Description
Job Overview:

Responsible for supporting the management of daily business operations through costing, inventory management, the preparation of weekly and monthly reporting documents and analyzing operations results and customer/product profitability to control and monitor efficiencies, in the attainment of our budget commitments.

Location: This position is based out of our Head Office at 15 Marmac Drive (Etobicoke, Ontario) and is hybrid.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the execution of the company's LTP within the Accounting & Finance department by partnering with cross functional stakeholders
  • Continuously analyze data across all areas of Plant operations to determine optimal performance model for the business
  • Develop effective cost variance tracking to provide accurate and timely analysis of trends, forecasts and actual performance
  • Provide accurate and timely Plant cost reports with recommendations to achieve optimal results
  • Lead the monthly forecasting and ad hoc reporting for the Plant, as well as leading the month end close process for the Plant
  • Provide oversight to the plant transactional systems across the organization
  • Ensure effective internal controls are in place, monitored, and adhered to throughout the Plant
  • Manage standard costs for products and support the SKU costing process
  • Approach controls with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Monitor and analyze raw and packaging materials, WIP, finished goods, productivity, and labour efficiencies
  • Actively live and role model our Leadership competencies by holding self and team (including all direct report 'people leaders') accountable for creating a positive work environment and culture through administration of our People Processes and Tools.
  • Performance Management: Ensure proper onboarding and development of all staff by completing induction process, coaching and developing capabilities, executing PDP start/mid-year dialogues, and engaging in corrective action when required
  • Talent & Succession: Ensure job vacancies are filled by completing the required processes and representing the company with integrity throughout the recruitment process
  • Training: Ensure completion of function compliance training
  • Engagement: Ensure an engaged workforce through development of sound working relationships and execution of Employee Survey action plans

The Recipe for Success:
  • Completion of university degree in Accounting, Business or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of cost accounting and financial analysis experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2 years' experience at the Manager level of an organization
  • Completion of CPA, CMA, or CGA designation
  • Job specific knowledge of manufacturing industry, which exposure to standard costing and inventory management
  • Strong leadership skills including building strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Results oriented with strong attention to detail, initiative and independence
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written; strong listening skills).
  • Strong judgement, analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions.
  • Proven initiative and willingness to drive change, with a focus on innovation, process improvement and solving problems.
  • Strong computer systems (MS Office, ERP systems)
  • Ability to prioritize demands in a fast-paced work environment
