Manager, Field Operations & Workforce Excellence

We're looking for a hands-on, traveling leader to build, develop, and elevate our field teams-someone who thrives on job sites, not behind a desk. In this role, you'll spend the majority of your time in the field, working side-by-side with crews across locations to shape how we hire, train, and execute. You'll drive first-time quality, safety, and performance at scale while solving real-world operational challenges where they happen. Purpose of Role
Own and elevate workforce capability across hiring, onboarding, training, certification, safety, quality, and field readiness. This role is highly field-driven, traveling across locations to directly train teams, improve execution, and ensure consistency in performance, safety, and quality standards.

Work Environment & Travel
This is a field-first, travel-intensive role requiring regular travel to job sites and branch locations (50-70% travel)
Must be comfortable working in active construction/restoration environments
Expected to work directly alongside crews, trainers, and field leaders on job sites

Core Responsibilities
1. Workforce Planning, Hiring & Field Readiness
Partner with recruiting to establish hiring standards and build high-performing field teams
Evaluate new hires through structured checkpoints (Day 3, Day 8, Week 2)
Establish clear expectations and accountability at the crew level
Identify gaps in team capability through direct field observation
Adjust workforce structure to meet operational demands

2. Field Training Delivery & Technical Academy Ownership
Deliver hands-on, in-field training across locations
Build and execute structured onboarding programs to accelerate time to productivity
Develop practical training content based on real job site conditions
Coach crews and leaders in real time to reinforce best practices
Ensure every employee is equipped to perform safely and effectively

3. Certification & Skill Development
Define and manage certification requirements across roles
Track and maintain compliance across regions
Support ongoing skill development and cross-training initiatives

4. Safety Integration & Culture
Lead daily safety practices and reinforce protocols on-site
Ensure safety is understood as non-negotiable across all teams
Enforce proper procedures (lifting, PPE, equipment use)
Empower teams to hold each other accountable for safety
Reinforce the expectation: everyone goes home safe every day

5. Quality Management & Field Audits
Conduct job site audits to ensure adherence to quality standards
Identify root causes of defects and eliminate rework/warranty issues
Drive first-time quality through training, coaching, and accountability
Standardize best practices across teams and locations

6. KPI Management & Continuous Improvement
Track key performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities
Address operational bottlenecks (labor, process, execution)
Optimize workforce utilization by aligning strengths to needs
Set milestone goals and create visibility into team progress
Drive continuous improvement through hands-on field engagement

Required Qualifications
