Job Title: Manager, Facilities
Reports to: Director, Facilities
Location: Goleta, CA - In-Office

The Role

As the Manager, Facilities, you will oversee maintenance and housekeeping operations for our multi-building corporate campus. You'll ensure all buildings are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, cleanliness, and appearance-supporting an environmentally sustainable, productive, and professional environment for employees, clients, and visitors. You'll provide leadership to maintenance and housekeeping teams, develop preventative maintenance programs, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, champion sustainability practices, and manage vendor and contractor relationships. Collaboration with business partners and the broader Facilities and Safety & Security teams is key, as is a strong service orientation.

Your Impact
  • Lead, coach, and mentor maintenance and housekeeping staff, fostering accountability and high performance
    • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance management for all direct reports
    • Establish housekeeping standards, schedules, and quality assurance procedures
  • Oversee daily operations of maintenance across all buildings and campus grounds
    • Ensure functionality of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems
    • Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules and inspection programs
    • Manage Opex/Capital projects for equipment upgrades in coordination with leadership and contractors
  • Lead safety inspections, emergency preparedness drills, and corrective action plans
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, local building codes, fire safety, and environmental regulations
    • Maintain records for audits, inspections, and compliance reporting
    • Develop training programs to improve technical knowledge and safety awareness
  • Develop and manage annual maintenance and housekeeping budgets
    • Control costs while maintaining the highest possible standards
    • Develop 3-5-year capital equipment budget requirements
    • Conduct quarterly budget reviews
  • Align with Deckers Sustainability team to track and report all Facilities-related utility usage and sustainability metrics
    • Support global facilities and other functions with ad hoc requests or continuous improvement opportunities
    • Conduct quarterly sustainability reviews


Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Associate of Science Degree (technical/trade school a plus)
  • IFMA Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) and CPR/First Aid - AED certifications are a plus
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance, including at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role
  • Possess strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety)
  • Experienced in overseeing housekeeping and janitorial services in a large facility or multi-building environment
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, vendors, and capital projects
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to manage multiple buildings and teams while maintaining high standards
  • Inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing staff
  • Proactively ensure a safe, compliant, sustainable, and risk-free environment
  • Balance day-to-day needs with long-term planning and cost management
  • Maintain a professional, responsive, and solutions-focused approach
  • Lead, manage, coach, develop, and mentor team members in a fast-paced campus environment
  • Excel at project management and leading cross-functional teams
  • Subject matter expert on maintenance management programs, risk mitigation, and safety
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experienced in facilities maintenance budget modeling using information systems (Excel, Oracle, or similar ERP systems)
  • Available on call 24/7 and able to respond to emergency situations as needed
  • Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends to support special events or operational needs
  • Serve as first responder for campus emergencies
