Title: Manager, Equipment

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Equipment

Location: Lansing, MI

Summary:

In this role, you will lead and manage an area of the organization's production equipment and maintenance operations. You will also supervise the production equipment preventive maintenance program.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the production equipment preventive maintenance program
  • Review the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, to anticipate & solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Help to supervise line improvement projects and be a technical advisor/supporter to engineers/technicians in critical engineering matters
  • Frequently and consistently communicate with all maintenance engineers and technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure proactive two-way communication concerning maintenance issues
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety programs
  • Lead and develop all team members for career growth and retention
  • Communicate regularly with headquarters in Korea regarding project statuses, continuous improvement, problem solving and planning
  • Perform negotiation with vendors and contractors thereby maintaining cost effective and high quality service
  • Conduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the engineers and the technicians
  • Supervise the managements of documents to follow the requirement of ISO/TS16949
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
    • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
    • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits in appropriate work areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience
  • Must be able to speak both Korean and English in professional level.


Experience:
  • 7+ years of related experience

  • 3 to 6+ years of experience leading and managing multiple processes
  • Experience with large production lines and floor management
  • Experience implementing 5S principles preferred

  • Experienced in NFPA 70E, LOTO, and OSHA regulations is strongly preferred


Skills:
  • Knowledge of battery system or processes a strong plus

  • Proven analytical ability to understand and solve technical issues in a team oriented environment
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and effectiveness in accomplishing goals
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation

  • Availability for off-hours calls

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support entire production team

  • MS Office Suite
