Job Description:

Microchip Technology Colorado Springs Equipment Engineering Service Department has an opening for an Equipment Engineering Section Manager to manage equipment engineers and technicians and their activities to meet Fab 5 manufacturing goals of timely shipment of high quality and low-cost product in a safe environment.

Essential Functions:
  • Manage staff by setting priorities, assigning responsibilities and driving for results to meet EES KPI's (Key Process Indicators) and our Continuous Improvement efforts. These include:
    • Equipment Related Scrap
    • Cost
    • Equipment Availability
  • Manage equipment preventative and predictive maintenance programs and spare/consumable parts utilizing 6S principles.
  • Manage employees' time and time-off in Workday.
  • Manage headcount in functional area to include performance management.
  • Actively manage Employee development, documenting such through EES Training Matrix program.
  • Manage equipment installation and start-up as well as shut-down, removal or relocation.
  • Coordinate equipment purchases and disposition of existing equipment.
  • Proactively coordinate EE department activity with that of other departments to achieve highest results.

Requirements/Qualifications:

BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical degree

8+ years of relevant engineering experience

2+ years of leadership experience preferred
