ABOUT THE JOBWe are looking for a Manager, Environmental Safety and Health. An onsite role eventually in Long Beach, CA (will be in HQ - Costa Mesa, CA for at least the first year), responsible for the development and implementation of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs to comply with federal, state, and local regulations at a newly constructed multi-building manufacturing campus. Individual will work first with our real estate and facilities teams to ensure the new campus is constructed with safety and environmental risk mitigation methods in place. As programs and people move into the site, so will you. Thereafter you will work in manufacturing and R&D environments focusing on EHS programs such as occupational safety, chemical management, incident management, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, storm water management, air emissions, regulated waste, etc.
This position provides leadership, coaching, development and direction to the EHS teams and partners with operations, engineering, people team, and leadership to reduce risk and improve workplace safety performance.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Lead and manage the EHS department, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
- Assist accident/incidents investigations, analyze root causes, and implement preventative actions
- Serve as EHS interface and liaison with employees, managers, customers, auditors and regulators
- Identify workplace safety hazards and conditions for job-related tasks by performing and documenting safety inspections
- Heavy collaboration with other departments to help guide, teach and influence safe behaviors in the workplace
- Responsible for hazardous waste management, including proper handling, labeling, and storage
- Recognize requirements and ensure compliance with safety programs and standards including: hazard communication, fall protection, respiratory protection, lockout/tag-out (LOTO), machine guarding, power & hand-held tools, electrical, emergency response, and chemical management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health and safety programs
- Experience leading teams
- Experience in Cal/OSHA
- Experience in 40 CFR Parts 260-279 Hazardous Waste Management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective at engaging with leadership, regulators, front-line staff, and third-party partners
- Capability to manage multiple activities/projects and deadlines
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled sites
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Well-rounded ESH professional who is comfortable interfacing at all levels in the organization

- DoD program experience

US Salary Range
$129,000-$171,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
