ABOUT THIS JOB
Location: Manager, Environmental Monitoring

Department: Quality Control Lab

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:15AM - 5:00PM

Clinical Status: Clinical

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT
As a Manager, Environmental Monitoring you'll play a vital role in advancing our mission. In this position, you'll be responsible for leading LifeNet Health's Environmental Monitoring Program, ensuring all facilities consistently meet regulatory, accreditation, and internal quality requirements. This role serves as the primary operational liaison for technical matters, nonconformances, audits, and inspections, while also providing leadership and administrative oversight of the Environmental Monitoring team. This Manager ensures operational effectiveness of the laboratory information system in area of responsibility

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • People Management & Talent Development: Provides oversight to assigned team by supervising, guiding and directing employees to be effective team members. Ensures that everyone is equipped with the right skills, tools, and talents necessary for executing their duties. Using the established people processes (performance, development, succession, and career) to ensure that their team's level of performance and capabilities meet current and future standards.
  • Environmental Monitoring Program Management: Leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive environmental monitoring program across multiple controlled processing facilities, including water, surface, personnel, and viable and non-viable particulate monitoring. Ensures program effectiveness, consistency, and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Testing & Compliance: Oversees receipt of samples, testing, and records associated with Environmental Monitoring requirements. Performs trend analysis and reporting of Environmental Monitoring data. Ensures all monitoring activities, records, and quality systems comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Initiates, investigates, and resolves nonconformances and complaints through the CAPA system.
  • Data Analysis & Improvement: Analyzes environmental monitoring data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Supports data-driven decisions and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Process & Technician Oversight: Develops and maintains procedures, SOPs, and technical documentation. Supports validation activities for processes, equipment, and facilities. Provides technical guidance on environmental monitoring and ensures effective use of laboratory information systems.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • THREE (3) Years - Experience in a leadership role managing direct reports
  • FOUR (4) Years - Experience in Cleanroom Environmental Monitoring, including experience using aseptic technique


Preferred Experience/Skills/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree - Microbiology, Chemistry, Physical or Biological Science
  • CTBS Certification
  • Knowledge of Environmental Monitoring Regulations (US and EU)

Key Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of regulation, accreditation policies governing tissues and medical devices (FDA, AATB, ISO)
  • Validation: Cleaning, Recovery Efficiency, Neutralization
  • Laboratory Information Systems: Knowledge of LIS database design, configuration, validation
  • People Development: Actively engages in talent management practices (selection, promotion, development, and engagement) to cultivate a workforce that is well aligned with current and emerging talent needs
  • Analytical Thinking: Demonstrates the ability to successfully gather and evaluate pertinent information to draw conclusions and identify potential trends
  • Relationship Management: Builds and sustains partnerships across organizational boundaries and functions as well as outside the organization to achieve common goals and outcomes
  • Communication Skills: Written, verbal, and presentation; ability to engage, inspire and influence people


COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $87,226 - $116,301

Final compensation will be based on factors such as geographic location, qualifications, and prior relevant experience. The pay range for this position is $ hourly/annually (entry level qualifications) to $ hourly/annually
(experienced in this role). Actual compensation may be higher based on the successful candidate's knowledge and relevant experience.
