The Enterprise Insights department is responsible for creating Customer/Consumer and Marketplace knowledge by providing actionable and relevant insights that shape general understanding throughout the organization, influencing marketing and merchant activities as well as the overall BBW brand/Customer strategy. This team evaluates competitive and market trends as well as Customer and Consumer sentiment through in-house and vendor-led approaches.
This Manager is a key leader in providing customer/consumer intimacy and marketplace knowledge by leading the insights to support the omni-channel experience. This includes directing, implementing, analyzing and delivering marketplace and consumer findings/strategic implications to Digital, Store Operations, and Expanded Distribution Teams. Success in this role requires the ability to integrate customer, consumer, marketplace, and competitive insights into strategic recommendations that encourage omni-channel growth. Top-level, polished communication is required to deliver insights across all levels of the organization to help drive the overall brand forward through strategic and forward-looking thinking.
Responsibilities• Lead research projects from beginning to end, from gathering objectives, proposing the right methodology, overseeing fielding and analysis, and creating actionable reports and implications
• Leverage syndicated data, digital intelligence tools, and industry trend resources to support intelligence and marketplace monitoring efforts, synthesizing performance trends to find opportunities, risks and emerging shifts in the competitive landscape
• Develop and present data-driven reports tailored to various audiences, combining primary and secondary research with marketplace insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, especially in Digital, Store Operations and Expanded Distribution, to support business goals with relevant insights
• Build strong internal and external relationships to drive a proactive, strategic research agenda, with a focus on digital and omni-channel insights
• Manage external vendors to optimize analytical methods, tools, and capabilities. Maintain strong vendor partnerships. Ensure projects finish timely and meet quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience• 7+ years of experience in a retail market research or consumer insights role; corporate-side experience is required; supplier-side experience is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated proficiency in both primary and secondary research methodologies, including quantitative and qualitative techniques. Preferred experience with: Customer Experience (CX) tracking, including NPS and text analytics. Required experience with Digital/eCommerce research using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
• Demonstrated expertise in market intelligence, marketplace analytics, and trend forecasting, including the ability to synthesize syndicated data, digital intelligence, industry reports, and competitive benchmarking into actionable business recommendations.
• Experience applying tools such as Circana, SimilarWeb, Mintel, NielsenIQ or comparable platforms.
• Strong quantitative analysis working with large, raw datasets to extract insights and summarize customer and marketplace insights efficiently.
• Strong qualitative analysis synthesizing spoken and written open-ended feedback to identify key themes and trends.
• Exceptional writing skills and ability to clearly synthesize information from multiple sources and translate insights into compelling stories for a range of audiences.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including interacting directly with customers in a retail setting.
• Great teammate who can effectively collaborate across cross-functional teams and internal partners.
• Ability to operate independently in a changing environment while managing multiple priorities and delivering results under tight deadlines.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and drive to elevate insights and outcomes
Education• BA/BS in Business, Market Research, Finance, Economics, Strategy or related field or equivalent experience.
• MBA preferred but not required.
