Position Overview

Brunswick is seeking an experienced Manager, Duty Drawback & Trade Recovery Programs to build and lead duty drawback and customs duty recovery capability. This position will be responsible for implementing drawback software, developing audit-ready processes, and maximizing recovery of customs duties, tariffs, and other eligible governmental refunds.

Key Objectives (First 12 Months)
  • Assess current drawback processes and external provider relationships

  • Select and implement enterprise drawback software

  • Build Brunswick's import/export matching database

  • Develop SOPs, controls, and audit documentation requirements

  • Prepare and support Brunswick's managed drawback claims

  • Establish KPIs and recovery forecasts for senior leadership

Responsibilities
  • Own Brunswick's global drawback program with a primary focus on the United States
    Identify drawback opportunities across marine, propulsion, electronics, and component imports
    Manage drawback claims, accelerated payment processes, and CBP correspondence
    Coordinate with Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, Customs Brokers, Legal, and Trade Compliance teams
    Support post summary corrections (PSCs), protests, reconciliations, and related duty recovery programs
    Lead responses for drawback audits, desk reviews, and CBP requests for information related to drawback claims
    Implement data analytics and reporting tools to improve claim accuracy and efficiency

  • Manage relationships with software providers, brokers, consultants, and customs authorities.
    Train internal personnel and build long-term organizational capability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, International Trade, or related field.

  • 7+ years of duty drawback, customs compliance, or trade recovery experience.

  • Direct experience preparing or managing U.S. duty drawback claims for 3+ years.

  • Experience with ACE and customs entry data analysis.

  • Experience with Duty Drawback Software

  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.

  • Experience leading projects and implementing business processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB).

  • Experience implementing drawback software platforms.

  • Experience with manufacturing drawback and substitution drawback programs.

  • SAP, Power BI, SQL, or comparable analytics experience.

  • Experience transitioning processes from outsourced providers to internal teams.

The hiring range for this position is $103,200 to $144,000 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary based on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
