MANAGER of DONOR EXPERIENCE

What You Will Do:

The Manager of Donor Experience (MDE) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing donor-facing events, communications, and engagement activities so that donors have an experience that deepens their commitment to and engagement with Bottom Line.

This role partners closely with the Managing Director of Development and regional development team to deliver a coordinated donor experience across events and communications. The MDE ensures that donor-facing activities-such as the annual gala, cultivation events, and ongoing communications-are well-organized, clearly messaged, and executed in a way that reinforces Bottom Line's impact and fundraising priorities.

The MDE leads the planning and execution of all donor-facing events in the New York region, while also developing and delivering compelling communications and storytelling that connect donors to Bottom Line's students, alumni, and outcomes. This includes ensuring consistency in messaging across events, written communications, and other engagement materials. This role also supports volunteer coordination, including the Associate Board, ensuring these efforts are organized and aligned with regional priorities.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and execution-focused, with strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across teams. They are comfortable managing multiple priorities, working with different stakeholders, and ensuring that both events and communications are delivered consistently and at a high level of quality.

Donor Experience & Events (45%)

  • Lead planning and execution of all donor-facing events in the New York region, ensuring a cohesive, high-quality experience across the full engagement calendar
  • Serve as project owner for the annual New York gala (~$500K goal), driving planning, coordination, timelines, and execution from start to finish
  • Develop and manage detailed event plans, including timelines, stakeholder roles, and execution milestones
  • Partner with the development team to support sponsorship outreach and donor participation tied to key events
  • Coordinate logistics and execution of additional cultivation and engagement events throughout the year


Donor Communications & Stewardship (30%)

  • Support execution of a regional donor communications calendar aligned to fundraising priorities
  • Develop and deliver donor-facing content across events, campaigns, and updates
  • Draft invitations, follow-ups, and stewardship communications in partnership with the development team
  • Ensure communications are clear, compelling, and aligned with Bottom Line's mission and impact


Volunteer Coordination & Management (15%)

  • Coordinate volunteer engagement across the region, ensuring opportunities are organized and effectively executed in support of development priorities
  • Own planning and execution of Associate Board activities, including meetings, events, communications, and ongoing engagement
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and coordination of Associate Board member involvement in fundraising and events throughout the year


Cross-Team Collaboration (10%)

  • Partner closely with program teams to identify and execute opportunities for donors to engage with students and alumni
  • Ensure student involvement in donor experiences is well-prepared, meaningful, and aligned with program priorities
  • Collaborate with national teams to align regional work with organizational priorities, campaigns, and messaging
  • Effectively leverage national infrastructure, tools, templates, and resources to strengthen regional execution

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 9a - 5p or 10a - 6p (local time), flexibility may be requested; additional hours as needed
