Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Development and Institutional Events, the Manager, Development and Institutional Events will help support and execute Juilliard's Development and Institutional Events program-including two annual benefits and 30+ campus and signature events, while providing support across Development, including Major Gifts, Campaigns, Membership, and institutional priorities.

The annual salary for this role is $85K to $90K.

Job Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of the Director of Development and Institutional Events, provide administrative and operational support to the Development and Institutional Events team, including all alumni events both on campus and off. Contribute to the successful planning and execution of events across the department.
  • Manage the team's general email inbox, responding to inquiries, routing messages appropriately, and ensuring timely and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for general event inquiries, providing excellent customer service to donors, guests, and campus partners.
  • Provide management and administrative support to the Director, Associate Director, and Apprentice, including calendar coordination, meeting scheduling, preparing materials, and tracking action items.
  • Support event planning and execution across a range of cultivation, stewardship, and institutional events, assisting with logistics, guest lists, registration, and on-site coordination.
  • Assist with preparation of event materials, including invitations, nametags, briefing documents, seating lists, and event-day packets.
  • Support the development and maintenance of event invitation lists, ensuring accurate guest data, segmentation, and tracking to support effective outreach and event execution.
  • Assist in managing RSVP tracking, guest communications, and follow-up correspondence for events.
  • Coordinate basic vendor communications and support logistical arrangements, including deliveries, supplies, and event setup needs.
  • Provide on-site event support, including registration, guest check-in, wayfinding, and general event assistance to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience.
  • Maintain inventory of office and event-related supplies, including catering materials, and support research on vendors and venues to inform event planning and execution.
  • Assist with general office operations, including managing shared calendars, maintaining supplies, answering phones, and supporting day-to-day administrative needs of the team.
  • Perform additional administrative duties and special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and a team-oriented approach.


Role Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of administrative, events, or related experience-preferably in a nonprofit, higher education, or arts organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a professional and responsive approach to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Dependable and consistent, with the ability to follow through on tasks and support team priorities with care and accuracy.
  • Curious and proactive, with a willingness to learn, ask questions, and anticipate team needs.
