Job Description

AbbVie's Business Technology Solutions (BTS) Information Research (IR) organization is seeking a Manager, Data Products & Delivery to lead a team responsible for delivering curated data products within ARCH, AbbVie's R&D Convergence Hub. As part of the DELOS team - Data Exploration and Linked Outcome Solutions - this role helps build the trusted, well-curated, AI-ready data foundation needed to advance analytics, reporting, knowledge graph capabilities, and AI-enabled use cases across R&D.

In this role, you will lead a blended team of direct employees and contractors, including data engineers and data curation specialists, accountable for high-quality, well-documented, reusable data products. The team's work spans data curation, data quality, data modeling, metadata, governance, documentation, pipeline coordination, and execution. You will guide day-to-day priorities, lead data curation decisions, coordinate work across initiatives, remove barriers, and help ensure solutions are reliable and aligned with business, scientific, and platform needs.

Working closely with business stakeholders, platform teams, architects, and data owners, you will help translate business and scientific needs into reliable data delivery plans, support data standards, and help drive continuous improvement across data management processes and workflows. You will partner with the Associate Director - Data Strategy, AI & Knowledge Enablement to execute priorities and support the successful delivery of ARCH data initiatives.

This role is an opportunity to lead a team at the center of AbbVie's R&D data transformation, helping deliver trusted, reusable, and AI-ready data products that improve how research data is accessed, connected, understood, and used across the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Data Product Leadership: Lead planning and execution for curated, reusable, and AI-ready data products across multiple projects and workstreams. Translate business and scientific needs into clear priorities, coordinate timelines and dependencies, manage risks, and ensure outcomes are practical, scalable, and aligned to stakeholder needs.
  • Technical Coordination & Issue Resolution: Coordinate with data engineers, architects, platform teams, and data owners to resolve blockers, manage dependencies, support timely decisions, and ensure teams have the clarity needed to execute effectively.
  • Team Leadership & People Development: Mentor, supervise, and coordinate employees, contractors, and external partners supporting data curation, data modeling, engineering, and delivery activities. Set clear expectations, provide feedback, support development, and foster an inclusive, accountable team culture.
  • Operating Rhythm & Continuous Improvement: Establish and maintain team operating rhythms, including backlog health, sprint ceremonies, progress visibility, and issue escalation. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, documentation, and consistency across data product workflows.
  • Data Curation Decision Leadership: Lead decisions related to data curation standards, quality expectations, metadata, lineage, documentation, and reusable data practices. Partner with stakeholders to prioritize remediation activities that improve trust, usability, and consistency.
  • Stakeholder, Vendor & Partner Collaboration: Partner with business, scientific, technology, platform, vendor, and external-partner stakeholders to understand priorities, align plans, communicate risks and dependencies, and support relationships that advance organizational goals.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure team activities follow AbbVie policies, data governance standards, software development lifecycle practices, data security expectations, and relevant compliance requirements.
