Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As the Manager, Data Management, you will be responsible for the execution of the RBC Insurance data management framework including data stewardship, critical data management, and regulatory and compliance initiatives. This role works closely with internal and external partners such as the RBC Chief Data Office (CDO), Enterprise Information Management Risk, I.T., Internal and External Audit, and the Digital team; collaborating to learn and integrate internal policies, guidelines and best practices into data governance at RBC Insurance.
What will you do?- Acting Business Sponsor Representative/ Delegate specific to Data Management on RBCI Agile Initiatives
- Review process requirements
- Develop standards and procedures that define how data is used by authorized personnel
- Identify and document regulatory and legal/risk issues, including data retention requirements
- Ensure sensitive data is protected at all times by only using approved equipment, networks, and other controls
- Champion the integration of data governance within standard project methodology
- Responsible for the successful completion of the annual Payment Card Industry Assessment
- Support adoption and execution of data standards and best practices through use of approved equipment, networks, technologies and controls.
- Act as an advocate for the Insurance Data Domain to ensure data governance guidelines are followed for all RBCI waterfall and agile initiatives.
- Ensure projects source and utilize data as much as is feasible from the designated system of record.
- Support Insurance Data Domain
- Ensure consistency in how enterprise data policies and standards are implemented as per the Chief Data Office (CDO)
- Support Access Management and Data Stewardship
- Responsible for supporting the overall access to RBCI data and applications based on the required role as defined by Data Stewardship Guidelines
- Assisting the RBCI Data Stewards, Data Steward Delegates and Data Owners in ensuring the accuracy of user access to information across all Insurance Applications
What will you need to succeed? Must-have - Minimum 3 years' experience, Insurance or financial products/services and corresponding data
- Be effective and equally conversant in business, technical environments, and AI adoption
- Demonstrate the ability to recommend solid solutions/processes and procedures to ensure high level of data quality and accuracy
- Strong, innate, business and data acumen
- Works well under pressure and time constraints
Nice-to-have - Working knowledge of Enterprise Data Management, Governance and Data Retention and Destruction
- Demonstrate ability to influence cross functional stakeholders and foster a strong data governance culture across all Insurance
- Proven leadership and collaboration across business, technology, legal, and compliance team
- Experience in Agile delivery tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Understanding of AI governance, data ethics, and cloud data platforms

Pay RangeThe expected pay range for this position is:
$67,000.00 - $110,000.00
