Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Manager 2 Data Analytics in Rancho Bernardo, California. This hands-on leader will oversee a team responsible for establishing a culture of data-driven decision making and creating business value through promoting the application of data analytics techniques across a broad range of business areas. They will regularly interact with key stakeholders to identify, develop, and deploy data analytics systems that are aligned to our strategic roadmap. The successful candidate must be entrepreneurial and a self-starter with the ability to challenge the status quo.

Job Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Implement the program-specific Data strategy that supports Enterprise Data Strategy
  • Build, mentor, and lead a highly performing team of data engineers and scientists
  • Implement Data Science practices for prescriptive, predictive, diagnostic, descriptive, and cognitive analytics through automation, storage elasticity, and on-demand self service provisioning of all data types and lifecycles
  • Proactively identify issues and inefficiencies within the business to develop and deploy solutions
  • Enable the adoption of data analysis methodologies across program operations for improved performance analysis
  • Establish and enforce data visualization and reporting standards to ensure consistency, accuracy and usability across the program
  • Support the monitoring and analysis of operational data to identify trends, issues and opportunities, and provide recommendations/solutions
  • Actively engage with program leaders and key stakeholders to identify and understand operational problems
  • Manage the data infrastructure, network, and system automation
  • Ensure common User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) are designed and developed across the program

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in a related Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline and 9 years of related professional experience; OR Master of Science in a related STEM discipline and 7 years of related professional experience
  • Experience executing data strategies that consider big data solutions such as data lakes and/or data warehouses
  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Tableau, etc.) and techniques
  • Experience with large-scale distributed software and agile software development methodologies
  • 2+ years of experience with UI/UX design and development
  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science
  • Understanding of elastic data storage and archive storage lifecycle management
  • Final Top Secret Clearance
  • 4+ years of management experience over a technical team
  • 2+ years of experience with working/leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of business and engineering processes, tools, and techniques
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex analytical subject matter across varied audiences
  • Demonstrated experience executing product visions and fostering effective engineering teams
  • Demonstrated technical leadership of product development teams that have successfully delivered customer-driven products
  • Experience supporting big data solutions related to elastic data storage and archive storage lifecycle management
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing insights from multiple data sources
  • Experience with NoSQL Databases (e.g., MongoDB, Neo4J, etc.)
  • Understanding of Northrop Grumman policy, process, and products
  • Ability to make decisions with minimal support
  • Experience in a program management role

Primary Level Salary Range: $146,600.00 - $219,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
