Position Overview:The
Cyber Software Engineering Manager 2 will manage an on-site team providing varied engineering support in Huntsville, AL. Management responsibilities are expected to take about 20% of your time, the remaining 80% of your time will be spent providing direct support to one or more programs, contracts, or research and development projects.
Essential Functions:The
Cyber Software Engineering Manager 2 responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage a team of 15-20 direct reports.
- Performing functional manager roles and responsibilities (i.e., staffing, recruiting, timecard approval, performance reviews, etc.)
- Maintain high levels of engagement among their own team.
- Support Career Development of current talent among team members
- Interact with internal program leadership and customers on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and provide guidance and oversight to the employees.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years' experience in Cyber, Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field or a Master's Degree and 6 years of experience, or a PhD and 4 years of experience.
- Must be experienced in all aspects of the engineering development lifecycle
- Proven and demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage a group of direct reports functionally
- Familiarity with the GMD Missile Defense System
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
- Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the time to support business needs.
- Applicants must have a current active U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance at the time of application and is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications: - Direct supervisory experience and/or significant team leadership
- Strong math, physics or engineering background is preferred
- Previous experience with GMD processes, systems, network, infrastructure, and datacenter configurations
- Strong background in sprint planning and execution is highly desirable
- Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret Clearance
Primary Level Salary Range: $153,800.00 - $230,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
