The Manager, Creating Shared Value is astrategic role within GreenShield Cares, responsible for managing and advancinga portfolio of initiatives and partnerships in pursuit of GreenShield's missionof Better Health for All. This role manages internal governance andreporting processes for GreenShield Cares' signature initiatives and strategicportfolios, ensuring strong performance measurement, accountability, andalignment with organizational priorities.
The Manager plays a key role in project managementand execution, leading cross-functional initiatives from concept throughdelivery while supporting investment and budget management to optimize resourceallocation and maximize impact. The role also contributes to the development ofnew signature initiatives, identifying opportunities for innovation and scalingsolutions that deliver both social and business value.
Reporting to the Director, Creating Shared Value,the Manager will contribute to a culture of innovation and shared valuecreation, bringing GreenShield's social impact and business strategies togetherto advance a sustainable social mission. Through this work, the role will helpenable GreenShield's goal to leverage $200 million between 2025 and 2030 to positively impact the health and wellbeing of at least 3 millionCanadians.
Governance, Reporting, and Performance Management(30%): Manage internal governance andreporting processes for GreenShield Cares' signature initiatives and strategicportfolios, ensuring strong performance measurement, accountability, andalignment with organizational priorities and impact goals.
Project and Portfolio Management (30%): Manage and execute a portfolio of cross-functionalinitiatives and partnerships from concept through delivery, applyingdisciplined project management practices to deliver on timelines, scope, andmeasurable results.
Investment and Budget Management (20%): Support the planning, allocation, and oversight ofinvestments and budgets, optimizing resources to maximize both social impactand business value.
Stakeholder Management and Engagement (10%): Leadcross-functional alignment across business lines and enabling functions,influencing priorities, resolving trade-offs, and driving decisions in complexenvironments without direct authority.
New Initiative Development (10%): Contribute to the identification and developmentof new signature initiatives, leveraging innovative thinking and evidence-basedapproaches to design, test, and scale high-impact solutions.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR- 6+ years of relevant experience in social impact, healthcare, innovation, strategy, program management, or related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of management experience.
- Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional, multi-stakeholder projects, initiatives, or portfolios from concept through delivery across multiple senior stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Product, Operations, Corporate Affairs).
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to complex, evolving initiatives where goals, stakeholders, and pathways are not fully defined.
- Skilled in establishing and running end-to-end project governance, including steering committees, executive reporting, risk and issue escalation frameworks, decision-making processes, status reporting, and performance tracking.
- Experience preparing executive- and board-level materials with minimal oversight, including concise memos, briefing notes, dashboards, reports, and presentations that translate program performance, risks, and financials into clear recommendations that enable decision-making.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-million-dollar portfolios, multi-year initiatives, or enterprise-level programs, including sizeable budgets and trade-off decisions that balance impact, cost, and delivery timelines.
Education- A post-secondary degree related to social impact, social enterprise, business, or related field is required. A Master's degree or PMP certification would be an asset.
Skills andabilities- Project and portfolio management: Ability to independently structure ambiguous initiatives into clear execution plans, including workstreams, milestones, dependencies, success metrics, risk mitigation strategies, and escalation pathways, while coordinating multiple workstreams and ensuring timely delivery against scope, budget, and outcomes.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, structured narratives tailored to senior leadership, executives, board members, and governing bodies.
- Stakeholder engagement: Collaborative working style with the ability to build trust, align priorities, manage expectations, influence without authority, and bring diverse perspectives together to advance shared goals and outcomes.
- Financial management: Sound financial acumen to manage budgets, track investments, analyze variances, apply basic accounting principles, assess trade-offs, and support sound financial decision-making.
- Analytical thinking: Advanced analytical skills to interpret financial, operational, program, and impact data, identify trends, risks, opportunities, and insights, and translate findings into clear recommendations that support strategic decision-making, performance management, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills to build and maintain budgets, trackers, dashboards, and analysis tools in Excel, and develop clear, polished, executive-ready presentations in PowerPoint.
- Language Skills: English is required. French bilingualism is considered an asset.
