Manager, Counsel - Card Marketing
About the Role
The Card Legal Team is seeking a strategic and collaborative attorney to advise our credit card business and to help optimize our internal marketing tools and processes.
The attorney in this role will be a key player on the team advising on the marketing of Capital One card products and features and will play a foundational role in helping to develop complex tools and resources that will help unlock the next wave of marketing at Capital One. Youll work closely with the business and with other lawyers to help develop tools and resources that will drive more efficient generation and review of marketing collateral, including tools that unlock the use of generative AI in the marketing lifecycle. You will also partner with the business by strategizing about products, features and promotions, learning about and understanding the business intent, investigating and assessing the legal and business risks, and working to help our business match marketing promises to product execution. Working with the Consumer and Small Business legal team, you have the opportunity to learn and partner with the bright, collaborative and dynamic group of attorneys who support the Capital One card business, as well as build working relationships across the Legal department. And you work in a collaborative, supportive environment that values your insights, promotes continuous learning, and rewards creative thinking.
Prior experience in financial services laws, marketing and advertising laws, and/or general risk management is a plus, but not strictly required. The successful candidate will bring:
Exceptional Analytical Skills: You grasp complex topics quickly and synthesize them into concise, actionable, and simple advice.
Relationship Builder: You possess excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of building collegial, effective relationships with colleagues and clients.
Solutions-Oriented Mindset: You think like a strategic business partner, focusing on problem-solving rather than just functioning as a legal technician.
Strategic Judgment: You have a proven ability to anticipate long-term consequences and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Growth Mindset: You are open to new ideas, diverse perspectives, and unconventional solutions.
High Accountability: You take deep pride in your work, operating with a high degree of autonomy, initiative, and ownership.
Efficient Execution: You boast strong time-management skills, capable of prioritizing a significant volume of work and managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
