JOB SUMMARY

The Manager - Contract Management will be part of the Johnson & Johnson MedTech Contract Strategy & Execution (CS&E) organization, reporting to the Senior Manager, Contract Management. This role is responsible for driving flawless implementation of contracts and pricing strategies throughout the contract continuum from paper development through contract load and maintenance, while providing effective and efficient contract review and negotiation for commercial contracts. These responsibilities include supporting contract templates that enable approved business and CPC strategies and supporting terms and conditions redlines for commercial contracts across the JJMT Surgery organization, including robotics and digital surgery, as applicable. This individual is also responsible for assigned redlines, including customer negotiations in close partnership with Offer Development, Account Management, Deal Managers, and the Field Sales Organization. They will partner closely with the Commercial Programs Legal Group (CPLG) as a Learned Intermediary, the broader CS&E Contracting community, HCC, and internal business partners, including senior management, to identify opportunities, support process improvements, and advance critical company initiatives that improve turnaround time, contracting workflows, governance, risk management, and customer experience. Responsibilities include, at the direction of the Senior Manager, Contract Management, coordination of terms and conditions options and changes, identifying potential gaps, ensuring contracts are aligned to approved strategies, supporting customer negotiations, sharing preferred practices, and recommending solutions that improve customer experience and operational excellence.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • At the direction of management, direct and manage commercial contract terms and conditions negotiation.
  • Review and negotiate terms and conditions in commercial contract documents.
  • Work with the Senior Manager, Contract Management to facilitate internal contract approval and stakeholder negotiation to resolve complex issues and assist in disputes (e.g., escalating complex legal and factual issues to the appropriate internal parties, e.g., Commercial Operations, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Corporate Risk Management, Health Care Compliance, Privacy, CPLG).
  • Develop and maintain positive business partnering relationships with Legal, Offer Development, and Field Sales Organization.
  • Proactively support the design and implementation of systems, processes, and controls to track and manage the contracting process to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • When assigned, facilitate effective communication and collaboration with internal partners, consistent with company mission and values, to ensure that actions taken reflect terms of contracts and agreements. Provide regular mentorship and training to business partners to ensure they understand contractual requirements as well as the general legal and compliance environment.
  • Ensuring conformity to business needs, accurate risk allocation, and compliance with Johnson & Johnson policies and procedures.
  • Ownership of assigned templates, clause library, and related contracting tools.
  • Write and/or maintain assigned SOP's and WI's.
  • Support execution strategies for approved offers, product launches, pricing programs, and business strategies, including contract templates and system setup, at the direction of management.
  • Ensure assigned contracts and redlines are aligned to approved strategies, pricing structures, eligibility requirements, and CPC governance.
  • Partner with Finance, Contract Strategy, Revenue Optimization, Offer Development, and Contract Management leadership to monitor contract execution risks, identify potential leakage or operational gaps, and support corrective actions.
  • Leverage contract and customer analytics to identify execution gaps, improve revenue realization, support margin outcomes, and strengthen free cash flow discipline.
  • Support the identification, piloting, and scaling of GenAI-enabled and advanced technology solutions that modernize contracting and improve cycle time, consistency, compliance, and customer experience.
  • Translate business needs into scalable, technology-enabled contracting process requirements in partnership with CS&E, IT, Legal, Finance, and Commercial Operations partners.
  • Drive training, best-practice sharing, and skill development for internal partners on contractual requirements, compliance expectations, approved strategies, and new ways of working.


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • A minimum of a BS/BA is required.
  • A degree in Business, Law, Finance, or Sales & Marketing is preferred. MBA or JD preferred.
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in Contracting & Pricing or related business experience within J&J, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to self-manage in a sophisticated, deadline driven environment is required.
  • Capable of drafting complex contract terms and conditions, attention to detail, reviewing contracts for conformity to policies, identifying and assessing risks, with the drive to understand JJMT Surgery products and offerings, strategies, and business objectives is required.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead, influence all levels of the organization, a willingness to take prudent risks, and indirectly manage cross functional teams is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, including giving presentations to executive leadership, building and maintaining relationships at all levels in the organization is required.
  • Strong level of ownership and drive for meeting/exceeding expectations is required.
  • Ability to work independently and complete all business projects according to agreed upon timelines is required.
  • Ability to drive adherence to protocols and business rules is required.
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment and build support across a complex set of collaborators, including the ability to influence and align complex groups of collaborators towards overall business objectives is required.
  • Ability to form strong, trust-based relationships with CPLG, Account Management, Franchises, Deal Managers, Offer Development, and Contract Strategy is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, including track changes and document compare, is required.
  • Experience with commercial organizations, including field sales teams, contracting needs, leadership mindsets, and financial profitability is preferred.
  • Deep experience with the JJMT Contracting systems and support tools is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the Capital and/or Robotic space is highly preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$102,000.00 - $177,100.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
