Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible to provide the strategic leadership to support and drive all aspects of Lean transformation. This person will report to the General Manager and will implement a strategy to lead change and produce deliverables that are aligned with attaining business objectives. To support these efforts, the Continuous Improvement Manager will build and lead a highly competent team that has the analytic, business, and facilitation skills to challenge the organization and lead it forward. This team consists Manufacturing Engineers that support plant operations.
  1. Responsible for implementing and maintaining World Class Lean, quality processes, and other advanced manufacturing methodologies and systems specifically for Forging, Machining, Grinding, and Thread Roll Processes.
  2. Increasing productivity through the support and leadership of people, processes and technology.
  3. Ensure production equipment is capable and has capacity for growth; involves integrating equipment, people, material flow systems, and information systems.
  4. Develop and maintain in process quality control systems and standards to ensure product quality.
  5. Drive continuous improvement in labor costs through waste reduction, production efficiency, and operations improvement.
  6. Develop strategies, implement and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of aerospace fasteners.
  7. Metrics driven and a solid decision maker.
  8. Evaluates and directs work space and shop floor utilization requirements.
  9. Work with vendors to determine appropriate material specifications.
  10. Responsible for maintaining and improving all factory processes and related metrics. Production efficiency, cycle times, capacity, capabilities and others as needed.
  11. Provides leadership to technical personnel to ensure ongoing product & process improvements to meet quality, CPI (continuous process improvement) and production goals.
  12. Provides direction to technical support as required for critical process and product issues.
  13. Ability to design processes, evaluate results and drive solutions to improve the processes.
  14. Works closely with production, quality, product engineering and support teams as required.
  15. Develop and support new manufacturing processes.
  16. Determine capital equipment needs & development of the budget process for equipment, training, software, and equipment installation projects.
  17. Prepare procedures, reports, and plans.
  18. Participates and leads defect reduction initiatives.
  19. Other Duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  1. Bachelor's Degree required (preferably Engineering, Business or Industrial Technology) with 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing operations environment
  2. Demonstrated expertise in implementation of lean principles and improvements.
  3. Experience in demand flow principles and Six - Sigma Methodology
  4. Proven work history in an International Company and in matrix organizations.
  5. Strong project leadership experience with a diversity of team skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to influence senior management, teams and individuals across multiple cultures, disciplines and geographies.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  1. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  2. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  3. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  4. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  5. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  6. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


Relocation is authorized for this position.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $141,000 to $211,600 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To comply with those regulations, this position may require applicants to be U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)), or eligible to obtain the required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce.
