In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and effective field execution, management, reporting of overall cost, and schedule elements of the construction portfolio. You will lead strategic reviews and implement the most cost-effective methods of project execution to maximize construction efficiency. Additionally, you will actively participate in the development and implementation of program tracking and reporting systems, while providing support, mentoring, and development of the construction team.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead construction execution - serve as the construction control account manager with accountability for internal and external budgets; recommend contractor package awards and lead constructability assessments, including workspace, access requirements, and internal and external field audits.
  • Manage contractor performance - be responsible for all activities associated with construction including schedule, cost, environmental compliance, safety, quality, and contractor relationship management; identify and help address roadblocks to keep projects on track.
  • Drive field oversight - lead inspection activities to ensure compliance with codes, specifications, and environmental standards; coordinate crew activities and support incident response as needed.
  • Champion standardization and ongoing improvement - find opportunities to increase standardization, control costs, and improve schedule predictability. Apply lessons learned and use new technologies and techniques across field operations.
  • Own organizational change and resource planning - identify, validate, authorize, and communicate organizational change activities; manage construction resources including inspectors and clerks, and lead demand and capacity planning for the portfolio.


Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree or related construction or operational training and and/or experience.
  • 8+ years project experience on industrial projects working directly with Engineering, Procurement, Contracting, and Execution teams. For candidates that do not possess a university degree, an additional 3-years of experience is required (total 11+ years).
  • Knowledge of industry codes, regulations, standards, and specifications, with a proven understanding of pipeline and terminal operations.
  • Strong ability to anticipate risks and challenges, develop mitigation strategies, and implement innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, planning, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Collaborative, self-motivated professional proficient in MS Office and Oracle/SAP; exposure to Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, and Field Operations is preferred, with PMP, MBA, or other professional designations considered an asset.


Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Working Conditions:
  • Office environment.
  • Significant travel (up to 50%) to Enbridge offices, operating facilities, construction sites, and supplier facilities. Ability to travel and work on projects throughout Canada and United States. Valid passport is required.
  • A valid driver's license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required which will be validated before hire.
  • Availability outside normal work hours may be required to address technical, cost, safety, and environmental issues that occur during active projects


Salary:
  • Ranges from $150,000 - $190,000 USD for US locations based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity.
  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
