Position Purpose

Leads and oversees the Energy Operations project portfolio to ensure successful delivery of construction and infrastructure projects on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives, safety requirements, and customer expectations. Establishes project management standards, drives consistency in execution, and leads the development of high-performing project management teams to support operational and strategic priorities.
Core Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and maintain project management methodologies, standards, and governance across Energy Operations.
  • Oversee a portfolio of construction and capital projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Lead and manage project management staff, including assigning work, balancing capacity, and setting clear performance expectations.
  • Establish and lead project teams; ensure appropriate resourcing and coordination across internal and external partners.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between project teams, operational leaders, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Set, communicate, and manage project expectations; ensure transparency through regular status reporting.
  • Monitor project performance, risks, and issues; implement corrective actions to maintain scope, schedule, and budget control.
  • Develop and maintain portfolio-level reporting and dashboards for project sponsors and senior leadership.
  • Lead, coach, and develop project management staff and subordinate leaders, fostering capability, engagement, and accountability.
  • Contribute to departmental strategy, planning, and goal setting in partnership with senior leadership.

Work Location
  • This hybrid role is based at our Madison, WI headquarters. While three days onsite is the minimum, team collaboration and business needs may require additional in-office presence.
