Overview

This leader will supervise a team of non-complex severity Construction Defect claim specialists, providing day-to-day direction and oversight. Supervision duties include the technical development of the adjusters and their claim files, including coverage, liability investigation, development and evaluation of damages, settlement/resolution strategy and litigation management.  These claims arise in various jurisdictions throughout the country.

 

This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring 4 days per week on‑site and 1 day remote.

 

To support team collaboration and business needs, preference will be given to candidates who can work in a hybrid capacity from one of our approved office locations listed below.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures appropriate new claim assignment
  • Oversees the adjudication of non-complex severity claims, including reserving, communication, documentation, litigation management, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement.
  • Ensures all claims eligible or ineligible for payment conform to quality, production standards and specifications.
  • Ensures claim processing is consistent with applicable policies, procedures and department guidelines.
  • Analyzes and approves insurance claim payments.
  • Provides file authority as appropriate to staff members.
  • Completes regular quality audits of team members
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
  • Assures that all customers receive quality service.
  • Reviews and analyzes processes, procedures and workflows to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Recruits, hires and recommends promotions, transfers and disciplinary action.
  • Participate in the performance management cycle.
  • Manages the development and training of their team.
Qualifications
  • 5-7 years’ equivalent experience and skills required, preferably in Construction Defect.
  • Thorough understanding of laws, principles of coverage, liability and insurance industry in general.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Creative and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, delegate and develop staff.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and direction.
  • Ability to operate business technology.
  • College degree
  • Valid adjuster’s license in appropriate jurisdictions or ability to obtain such.

 

The expected salary range for this role is $88,000-130,000 annually
