Full Job Description
Your New Role...
The Compliance Manager role will manage the compliance, product safety and regulatory strategy, policies and procedures for Warner Bros Tours and Retail group within the Burbank Hollywood Tour across multiple IPs. The role focuses on product compliance within multiple product categories within the product development process, ensuring the product selected is safe, globally compliant with testing and labelling regulations.

This will be achieved through working alongside our creative, buying and sourcing teams, engaging with suppliers to:
  • use supply chains and materials that are of the highest standard
  • be compliant with local legislation in each state we work in
  • ensure appropriate testing and labelling is completed as part of our product development process


The candidate will have excellent technical knowledge of product safety and US regulatory requirements to cover the US market, deliver an effective strategy for compliance, collaborating with the existing Global Compliance Manager to establish consistent and robust document processes.

Your Role Accountabilities...
  • Review product testing, technical files and labelling for Burbank developed product, ensuring the product is safe, compliant and fit for purpose, collaborating with the Global Compliance Team.
  • Approve test reports and relevant documents for shipment authorization.
  • Perform safety and quality review of products, packaging and labelling for potential claims or other regulatory issues for Burbank developed product.
  • Ensure all products have appropriate product safety warnings and / or call outs and meet legal packaging specifications.
  • Support and improve product compliance processes, solutions, and systems for Burbank developed product.
  • Manage testing and labelling updates.
  • Work with Global Compliance Team on product testing process implementation, risk assessment, policy and process document preparation, test protocols and labelling guide development with internal stakeholders and external technical partners. This includes preparation for global expansion
  • Communicate and document potential non-compliance or regulatory issues. Ensure identified issues are addressed, tracked, remediated, and monitored for closure. Assist in the investigation and resolution of relevant compliance concerns as needed.
  • Proactively look at compliance regulations in new territories as we expand our retail network. Identify key risks to the business through our stores, Tours and ecommerce platforms.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure the use of effective supply chains, materials of the highest standards and compliance with local and international legislation.
  • Onboard new suppliers, assessing production capabilities, ethical standards, production output and communicating Warner Bros standards and procedures.
  • Manage supplier records including declarations, certification, auditing, maintenance of procedures and ensure all paperwork is up to date. Implement supplier contracts with the legal team.
  • Manage packaging reporting regulations for Burbank such as EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) and submit reports on behalf of Warner Bros Tours and Retail. Make suggestions on how to improve our output and reduce overall costs.
  • Where possible, develop sustainable packaging and make suggestions on how to reduce our plastic packaging
  • Conduct market, competitor and industry benchmarking relating to quality, product safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with customer service in responding to customer complaints.
  • Support our Legal teams and Senior Management in responding to litigation and claims issues.


Qualifications & Experience...
  • Sound commercial acumen and a genuine interest in the retail market.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of international regulations and standards across multiple product categories (soft and hardlines).
  • Ability to work within global teams and across international time zones.
  • Self-motivated, accountable, driven to initiate, plan, resource, and complete projects.
  • Critical thinking ability, and flexibility to adapt in changing circumstances
  • Strong decision-making skills, including the ability to conduct fact finding, interpret data
  • Work independently and alongside Global Compliance Team in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects at once
  • Experience in Product Safety, Quality Assurance in industry. Should include product testing process implementation, risk assessment, policy and process document preparation, test protocol development with internal stakeholders and external technical partners.
  • 3+ years of direct experience in international regulations pertaining to consumer products (including CPSIA, California Prop 65, REACH, RoHS, CCC Mark, NRTL certifications, CE Mark, etc.) is strongly preferred.


40 hours per week (full time) on a Monday to Friday pattern.

Due to the adaptive nature of this role, flexibility is required to suit the needs of the business; with occasional traveling.
