Job Overview

The Manager, Community Relations (Pacific) will play a key role in advancing TD's social impact work by managing a portfolio of community giving partnerships across the Pacific region. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Philanthropy, this senior independent contributor role will shape how TD partners with the non-profit sector to create measurable social change, while supporting business alignment, TD colleague engagement, and storytelling.

The successful candidate will be a strategic relationship manager, thoughtful advisor, and strong executor who can work across external and internal stakeholders, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams to bring TD's social impact priorities to life. This role requires strong business acumen, sound judgment, knowledge of corporate donations/sponsorships and the Canadian non-profit sector, a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, and the ability to lead and manage complex work in a dynamic, high-visibility environment.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy and Portfolio Leadership
  • Serve as a core member of the TD Social Impact team, contributing to the development, prioritization, and execution of strategic initiatives that shape the Bank's community giving portfolio.
  • Lead end-to-end management of a regional portfolio of community partnerships, ensuring strong alignment with TD's social impact priorities, business objectives, and community commitments.
  • Identify emerging regional trends, community needs, and partnership opportunities that can strengthen TD's approach and inform forward-looking priorities.
  • Assess and recommend high-potential community giving opportunities using evidence-based analysis, due diligence, and strong judgment.
  • Design and manage multi-year partnerships that deliver measurable community outcomes, support non-profit partner sustainability, and create value for TD, TD colleagues, and communities.


Partnership Management and External Relations
  • Develop and manage relationships with a wide range of external community partners, including non-profit and community-based organizations across Pacific region.
  • Act as the primary relationship lead and strategic advisor for assigned partners, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience throughout the partnership lifecycle.
  • Review funding proposals and partnership opportunities to ensure programs are strategically sound, measurable, and aligned with TD's social impact priorities.
  • Prepare recommendations, briefing materials, and proposals to support internal decision-making, including review by executives and governance committees.
  • Represent TD at regional community events and activities and help prepare executives to represent TD, where necessary.


Business Alignment and Integration
  • Build strong relationships across TD business lines to identify opportunities to align community partnerships with broader enterprise priorities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within TD, providing advice on community giving opportunities, partnerships, and social impact outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with regional TD teams, business stakeholders, colleague engagement partners, and internal advisory groups to strengthen social impact integration and reach.
  • Identify opportunities to connect community partnerships to TD business priorities, colleague engagement, and regional market needs.


Activation, Communications, and Storytelling
  • Support the design and execution of high-impact activation opportunities that bring community partnerships to life.
  • Identify creative and scalable ways to deepen engagement, including events, volunteer initiatives, digital campaigns, storytelling moments, executive participation, and partnership integrations.
  • Work with Marketing, Communications, regional teams, and external partners to develop communications strategies that elevate the visibility of TD's community giving.
  • Support internal and external storytelling by identifying strong impact stories, community partner outcomes, and opportunities to demonstrate the value of TD's social impact work.


Operations, Governance, and Reporting
  • Oversee operational execution for the portfolio, including approvals, contracting, budgeting, reporting, and stewardship processes.
  • Support effective and efficient administration of the community giving budget, including tracking, controls, and documentation.
  • Work with Sustainability Reporting, Impact Measurement, and internal governance teams to ensure accurate and consistent reporting on community partnership activities and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, tools, and processes that support strong governance, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Consider TD's risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions and maintain strong adherence to operational, compliance, conduct, and reputational expectations.


Leadership and Team Contribution

Role Requirements

Experience and Education
  • University degree and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: community investment, philanthropy, stakeholder engagement, partnership development, community relations, public affairs, social impact, sustainability, corporate responsibility, government relations, or the non-profit sector.
  • Strong understanding of corporate donations, sponsorships, community investment, and the Canadian non-profit landscape.
  • Experience working in a large, matrixed organization or financial institution.
  • Experience managing highly visible partnerships or projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of sustainability, impact measurement, and community development trends is considered an asset.


Skills and Capabilities
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and ability to connect social impact work with TD's enterprise priorities.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to anticipate needs and build trust with community partners, executives, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Effective communicator with strong written, verbal, presentation, and executive-ready briefing skills.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to manage sensitive and confidential conversations diplomatically, including with partners that may not be eligible for funding.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of proactive ownership.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to analyze proposals, synthesize insights, assess risk and alignment, and make clear recommendations.
  • Ability to navigate changing work priorities, ambiguity, and complexity with confidence, applying sound judgement to situations where there is no clear precedent or established process.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and working respectfully with diverse communities.
  • Ability to balance business and community objectives and identify opportunities that create value for all.
  • Experience using all Microsoft Office tools and comfort using Copilot and AI tools for day-to-day work.
  • Experience with granting, workflow, or community investment platforms is considered an asset.


Working Conditions
  • Primarily remote/offsite.
  • Non-standard hours may occur due to events, partner commitments, executive deadlines, or community activities.
  • Periodic domestic travel may be required to attend community events, meetings, or TD activations.
