Job Description

This role involves spearheading the digitalization and innovation strategy by overseeing research, proof of concept endeavors, and the execution of implementation projects. Offering adept guidance and direction, encompassing processes, tools, facilitation, and critical analysis, for the advancement of the digitalization agenda. This entails working in close collaboration with sector, functional, and global leaders, contributing a strategic and inventive outlook, and potentially aiding in the execution of digitalization undertakings as agreed upon.

The position also encompasses evaluating and shaping strategic initiatives geared towards deploying emerging technologies across DSC businesses. Furthermore, the role involves supervising the creation of tools and comprehensive documentation that facilitate the widespread adoption of technology on both regional and global scales. Maintaining alignment on essential strategic endeavors at the global level is also a key responsibility.

The Manager offers informed recommendations to senior leadership regarding vendor and technology capacities. Additionally, they provide consultation to BU Innovation managers concerning vendor technology assessments and project management. Through active collaboration with vendors, they gain insights into technological capabilities that can enhance solutions, offer business insights, and seamlessly integrate with existing strategic systems and processes.

A pivotal facet of the role is cultivating and leading a team responsible for driving various regional projects, including proof of concept and initial deployments. This involves prioritizing use cases for swift implementation that yields optimal value for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Take the helm in managing multiple research and deployment initiatives, effectively allocating responsibilities, and harnessing the strength of professional relationships to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Operational Enhancement: Oversee the orchestration of tools, processes, and organizational frameworks aimed at accelerating DSC operations performance through the strategic integration of emerging technologies
  • End-to-End Supervision: Provide comprehensive oversight throughout the lifecycle of projects, from ideation to seamless delivery, ensuring consistent monitoring of performance for continuous refinement
  • Talent Development: Serve as a dedicated coach, mentor, and trainer for Senior Innovation Analysts and Innovation Analysts, nurturing their growth and fostering a culture of innovation
  • Strategic Guidance: Offer expert advice and mentorship to BU Innovation resources, leveraging your extensive experience to facilitate their professional development and elevate their impact
  • Analytical Support: Bring your advanced analytical expertise to the forefront, contributing insights and guidance to reengineering and continuous improvement projects

Required Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Logistics Discipline
  • Master's Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics / Business Administration preferred
  • Education and/or certification in LEAN, Six Sigma preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience in Industrial Engineering/Solutions Design/Consulting in the supply chain industry
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in at least one of the following: Project management and implementation, operations management, or organization design and implementation preferred
  • Experience as a management consultant or working in a strategic role in supply chain function preferred
