Position Responsibilities:- Manage Human Resources (HR)requirements for the Nursing Resource Team (NRT) (e.g. recruitment and retention; leave requests, disciplinary matters) in collaboration with HR
- Enter payroll data for all nursing resource team staff.
- Manage the Clinical Practice Leader (CPL) in coordination with the Senior Director on all aspects of education/professional development delivery to NRT staff and agency staff.
- Plan, implement, manage, and evaluate workforce plans and forecasted program staffing requirements in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to build a professional practice.
- Develop and communicate staffing schedules to meet clinical needs and department/unit objectives; share and adjust short-term and long-term workload and headcount forecasts with clinical leadership teams to meet staffing goals.
- Analyze staffing trends and adjust forecasts in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to plan, implement, and manage workforce planning and forecasting programs.
- Develop, implement, and lead a critical care cluster of staff (e.g. Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU)).
- Manage and negotiate one-time funding opportunities with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) (e.g. Late Career Nurse Initiative, Critical Care Secretariat).
- Manage the rolling initiative Nursing Graduate Guarantee between HR (recruitment), Program Directors, and Senior Director; produce documentation and reports.
- Lead Clinical Practice Leaders and newly hired nursing staff through corporate/centralized nursing orientation.
Qualifications:- Current registration and membership in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Membership with Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
- A minimum of (5) five years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital
- A minimum of (5) five years management experience with direct people management responsibilities
- Exceptional analytical and information-seeking skills that contribute to effective decision-making and strategic planning and execution of action plans that deliver results and motivate individuals for greater performance excellence
- Ability to work with a diverse group of leaders and stakeholders with demonstrated success in moving key stakeholders to positive resolution and to facilitate and coach clinical areas on change initiatives
- Experience managing in a multi-union environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with workforce planning and forecasting strategies, including recruitment and retention models
- Track record of delivering exceptional clinical practice, efficiency and patient care
- Track record for creating a quality and safety culture and means for monitoring and communicating results that is meaningful to team members and inspires continuous improvement
- Self-directed, courageous, and highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience managing competing demands in a fast-paced, multi-site, multi-disciplinary health care environment
