Work Arrangement: Onsite only

Location: Houston, TX

Salary Range: $99,213 - $116,721

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Summary

The Clinical Research Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of the clinical research program led by Dr. Hashem El-Serag. This role oversees daily research operations, staff, study portfolios, and program deliverables to ensure successful execution of clinical research activities.

Job Duties

  • Manage overall portfolio of clinical research studies including investigator-initiated and sponsored trials.
  • Monitor progress across studies to ensure timely completion of enrollment, data collection, and reporting.
  • Support long-term planning aligned with the PI's research strategy and funding priorities.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of clinical research studies, including startup, execution, and closeout. Ensure adherence to study protocols, sponsor expectations, and institutional requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor research protocols, procedures, and workflows.
  • Ensure full compliance with institutional, federal, and regulatory requirements governing clinical research.
  • Implement and maintain SOPs, quality control processes, and site certifications.
  • Implement best practices to enhance study startup timelines, enrollment performance, and reporting accuracy.
  • Supervise and manage clinical research coordinators, regulatory staff, and administrative personnel, and foster a high-performing, collaborative, and accountable team environment.
  • Assign workload, define responsibilities, and ensure appropriate staffing across studies.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and training of research team members.
  • Partner with research administration on pre- and post-award financial management.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MPH, MHA, MBA, or related field).
  • Six to eight years of clinical research experience, preferably in an academic medical center.
  • Experience managing multi-study research portfolios or research programs.
  • Certification in clinical research (e.g., CCRP, CCRC).
