Manager, Clinical Pharmacy is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and managing high-quality pharmaceutical care services in alignment with our mission and values. This role ensures safe, effective, and cost-conscious medication therapy while maintaining the highest professional and regulatory standards.
The Pharmacy Manager serves as
Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for one or more pharmacies and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This position plays a key leadership role in clinical pharmacy advancement, operational excellence, medication safety, and staff development.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Management - Provide leadership and oversight for pharmacy services, caregivers, and operational workflows
- Support staff development, education, well-being, and succession planning
- Represent the ministry or region on system, regional, and local committees
- Collaborate with executive, clinical, and operational leaders
Clinical & Medication Safety - Oversee medication formulary management and order-set standardization
- Advance clinical pharmacy initiatives and multidisciplinary team collaboration
- Promote medication safety through surveillance, education, and continuous improvement
- Reduce clinical variation and enhance evidence-based medication use
Operations & Compliance - Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and legal requirements
- Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), maintaining pharmacy and personnel compliance
- Implement new pharmacy technologies and operational processes
- Optimize purchasing, inventory management, and cost-effective medication use
- Coordinate onboarding and continuing education for pharmacy and non-pharmacy staff
Financial & Strategic Responsibilities - Assist with budgeting, productivity, and financial performance
- Support investigational drug services
- Align pharmacy operations with system and regional strategic goals
Reporting Structure - Reports directly to Regional Pharmacy Leadership (Senior Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacy Service Area Director, or Regional Executive Director)
- May indirectly report to executive administration at the ministry level
- Oversees frontline caregivers and/or department leadership extenders
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- Oregon Pharmacist License (required upon hire)
- 2 years of pharmacy experience in an applicable practice area
Preferred Qualifications - PharmD degree
- 1 year of pharmacy management or leadership experience
