Full Job Description
The Manager, Clinical Business Services is responsible for leading and overseeing all business management processes within key clinical services. Responsible for budget development, budget variance analysis, and project management and program planning. Responsible for charging and reconciliation processes, vendor relations, inventory management/control, and data/metrics management for the assigned clinical services. Responsible for working with the clinical services, logistics and materials management teams, directing other Associates involved in related business processes. The Manager, Clinical Business Services is responsible for leading and overseeing all business management processes within key clinical services. Responsible for budget development, budget variance analysis, and project management and program planning. Responsible for charging and reconciliation processes, vendor relations, inventory management/control, and data/metrics management for the assigned clinical services. Responsible for working with the clinical services, logistics and materials management teams, directing other Associates involved in related business processes. What you will do
  • Business Planning/Financial
    * Manages fiscal operations including preparation of expense and capital budget recommendations, monitoring verifying and reconciling expenditures.
    * Leads annual budgeting processes, including operating and capital budgets for designated cost centers and oversees materials management.
    * Conducts ongoing budget variance analysis for assigned departments and cost centers.
    * Prepares operational reports and analyses; makes recommendations or draws conclusions from operational data.
    * Oversees charging and reconciliation processes and works closely with Patient Financial Services to ensure accuracy and maximum efficiency.
    * Leads new program and project analyses and business planning.
    * Develops and maintains scorecard metrics, tracks, analyzes, and reports results for assigned clinical divisions.
    * Contributes to the completion of specific projects and programs by compiling information, developing assumptions, performing analysis and explaining findings.
    * Develops/assists Clinical Directors with development and monitoring of Continuous Improvement Projects.
    * Assists with financial audits.
  • Inventory/Materials Management
    * Manages vendor relationships within assigned clinical divisions.
    * Manages materials and inventory.
    * Directs inventory processes, controls and oversees logistical and scheduling staff.
    * Implement processes for reduction in supply cost.
    * Works with sales representatives with purchasing appropriate materials and inventory to ensure the best price.

Education/Formal Training Requirements
  • Required - Master's Degree Business Administration/Management
  • Preferred - Master's Degree Healthcare Administration

Work Experience Requirements
  • Required - Progressive management 1-3 years

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
  • Knowledge of management principles as would be developed from experience in leading and facilitating projects.
  • Must demonstrate strong quantitative abilities including mathematical, statistical and financial management skills.
  • Effective collaborative skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Access (or other similar software programs.)
  • Knowledge of materials management and patient billing preferred.
  • Strong business management skills.

Supervision Provided by this Position
  • Provides direction, directly and indirectly, to Associates regarding the business management and planning of the assigned clinical services.

Physical Demands
  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
