Job Description

The Divisional Capital Management & Reporting team (CM&R) sits within the Corporate Actuarial function in Divisional Business Services (DBS) at Pacific Life Re.

The team is responsible for capital management and consolidated solvency reporting across the Group, covering both the internal Economic Capital (EC) framework and the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) regulatory basis. Our focus is on developing a deep, forward-looking understanding of capital drivers across both bases and translating this into value-adding insight that informs strategy, risk appetite, and decision-making.

The team works closely with the Global Valuation Team, the Protection and S&R Actuarial Analytics & Insights teams, Divisional Finance, Risk, and the Enterprise capital management teams. • Provide expert support to senior leadership, Boards, Risk function and other Enterprise stakeholders on ad hoc matters, including capital impacts of transactions, strategy changes, and regulatory developments.

Capital Management Initiatives
  • Identify, develop, implement, monitor and iterate Division-wide capital management initiatives; and
  • Translate complex model outputs and analysis into clear, actionable strategic recommendations.

Capital Planning & Forecasting
  • The development, consolidation, and delivery of the multi-year capital plan for the Division;
  • Production of solvency forecasts, including the identification and monitoring of emerging risks; and
  • Stress and scenario testing (including CISSA), ensuring consistency and alignment across regions and stakeholders.

Shape Process, Governance & Transformation
  • Strengthen control frameworks (materiality, version control, documentation, operational event logging) across the team; and
  • Improves processes across the CM&R team

Lead, Coach & Develop
  • Manage and mentor analysts and actuaries within the Capital Management and Reporting team, provide coaching, oversight and technical guidance; and
  • Embed a culture of accountability, curiosity, continuous improvement and collaboration.

About you

You will be technically strong, commercially minded, and comfortable operating in ambiguity and under competing priorities. You will excel at cutting through complexity, and delivering high-quality outputs across a demanding and varied capital management agenda. You will have good communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, challenge, and explain complex topics clearly and concisely. With frequent exposure to the Chief Actuary and senior leadership, the ability to quickly understand requirements, prioritise effectively, and deliver meaningful results is essential.
