Full Job Description
This role combines political campaign and project management leadership with political giving strategy and PAC management. You will serve as both a political strategist and operational manager, representing policy goals to internal and external stakeholders while supporting Lyft's comprehensive political engagement infrastructure. To support our Federal, State & Local Policy teams, you will lead the development and implementation of political campaigns-including legislative advocacy and state ballot initiatives; while simultaneously driving our political giving strategy and managing all PAC operations in support of the company's policy mission. Reporting to the Director of Campaigns, this role serves as an essential support function for the broader Policy team.
Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Campaign Development & Management
    • In partnership with our Director of Campaigns, design and implement strategic campaigns leveraging tactics such as rider and driver activation and engagement; earned, owned, and paid media; and leveraging, creating, and supporting coalitions and third party partners.
    • Develop campaign plans with clear goals, timelines, budgets, and messaging.
    • Lead cross-functional collaboration across Policy, Communications, Legal, Product, Marketing teams and other internal partners.
    • Represent Lyft on industry policy coalitions, building third-party support as needed.
    • Oversee campaign execution, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
    • Act as a thought leader on political strategies, messaging, and tactics across the company.
  • Political Giving Strategy & PAC Operations
    • Own and drive Lyft's short-term and long-term political contribution strategy in partnership with the Chief Policy Officer and Policy Leadership Team, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
    • Set vision and strategy for Lyft's Federal PAC and State PACs, including internal growth targets and fundraising initiatives to maximize participation and contribution levels.
    • Identify high-impact opportunities to expand Lyft's political footprint and deepen relationships with elected officials and organizations.
    • Serve as subject matter expert on political giving strategy, providing regular briefings, impact analysis, and strategic recommendations to leadership.
    • Ensure comprehensive compliance with campaign finance law across federal, state, and local jurisdictions; manage external counsel relationships and establish robust compliance processes.
    • Lead quarterly state and local political giving cycles, including planning, budgeting, approvals, execution, and tracking across all Government Relations teams.
Experience:
  • At least five years of experience working in political campaigns, legislative advocacy, PAC activities, corporate political affairs, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in campaign finance law and compliance.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling corporate PAC programs and political giving operations.
  • Strong understanding of political strategy, project management, budget management, and compliance.
  • Experience managing relationships with elected officials, political committees, and fundraising networks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex political campaigns, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and manage internal relationships.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule - Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The expected base pay range for this position in the Washington D.C. area is $118,000 - $147,500, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
