Job Description
Reporting to the Vice President, Strategy & Performance, the Manager, Strategy & Performance will sit within Extendicare’s Office of the CEO – a high-visibility team in a fast-growing, publicly traded seniors health care company. This is a hands-on role for an analytically sharp, independently driven professional ready to work at the intersection of strategy and execution: developing executive-level materials, driving cross-functional initiatives, and supporting the performance management infrastructure that keeps Extendicare’s leadership aligned on what matters most.
This position will be based at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario. Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives from the Office of the CEO, coordinating across business lines and corporate functions to advance Extendicare’s most critical priorities
Develop high-quality materials for the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors, and external audiences – including strategy decks and CEO briefings
Conduct research, financial analysis, and structured problem-solving to support strategic planning, business case development, and executive decision-making
Support corporate performance management, including KPI tracking, balanced scorecard reporting, and initiative progress monitoring
Contribute to the annual strategic planning cycle, including executive goal-setting frameworks
Manage multiple concurrent project workstreams, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring accountability to timelines and deliverables
Leverage data, analytics, and AI-assisted approaches to strengthen the quality and efficiency of strategic outputs
Support internal and external communications on behalf of the Office of the CEO, including leadership presentations and stakeholder-facing content
Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across the organization to enable alignment and advance key priorities
Complete other duties as assigned
Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline; MBA is an asset
2-4 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or a related analytical role
Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills – able to synthesize complex information into clear, executive-ready insights
Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; comfort with data analysis, visualization, and reporting tools
Familiarity with AI tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot) and genuine curiosity about applying them to enhance the quality and efficiency of strategic work
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce polished deliverables under pressure
A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, takes initiative, and manages multiple priorities independently and with minimal direction
High degree of discretion, professionalism, and integrity; comfortable handling confidential executive and board-level matters
