Job title: Manager, Business Enterprise Solutions Team
Location: Toronto office, Hybrid

Job vacancy status: Existing vacancy

Compensation range: $100,000-$125,000

Position Summary:

The Manager will lead various client engagements within our Business Enterprise Solutions Team (BEST). This group is responsible for bookkeeping, payroll, managing banking and finance relationships, management reporting, government filings and general business advice. In addition, the team prepares Compilation financial statements, corporate income tax filings, investment company bookkeeping, T3s, T4s, and T5s.

Major Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of engagements including:
    • Supervision of staff and work through the first level of review prior to partner review
    • Recognition of accounting and tax issues and devising appropriate work plans to address them
    • Preparing and monitoring engagement budgets and communicating status to the partner on a timely basis
  • Demonstrate a sense of ownership and urgency to push a file through to completion
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members, providing regular feedback, guidance, and opportunities that support their professional growth and long-term success
  • Lead and invest in the development of talent by taking an active role in training, skill-building, knowledge sharing, and creating a culture where team members learn, grow, and take on greater responsibility
  • Meet chargeability, profitability, and/or realization goals
  • Strive to become the key contact person on the engagement
  • Develop strong working relationships with key client personnel
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of clients' business
  • Identify and handle complex technical issues and problems
  • Develop creative solutions to client issues
  • Recognize business improvement areas and promote different services offered by the Firm


Qualifications/Experience:
  • Minimum of four years as a manager working in an accounting firm
  • A specialization working with client files within professional services is an asset
  • Serves as the go-to person for team members, providing coaching, feedback, and support for their technical and professional development
  • Participates in recruitment and training of new team members
  • Strong understanding of business issues and trends, and proven experience in client service
  • A trusted advisor with the ability to establish credibility and be decisive
  • Excellent strategic, planning, and organizational skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential to this role
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, Word, and Excel, and highly computer literate overall
  • Knowledge of Caseware/Caseview and TaxPrep
