This role is for a Manager, Business Delivery Quality: The following are key responsibilities and focus areas.

1. Leadership and Direct Reports

The manager will start with 1direct report, creating an immediate opportunity to mentor and develop talent. By setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of quality, the manager helps team members build expertise in testing, defect management, and process optimization.

2. Building Scalable Processes

By optimizing testing processes end-to-end and introducing automation, the manager reduces manual work and frees up team capacity for higher-value activities. This not only improves efficiency but also gives team members the chance to learn advanced tools and methodologies, enhancing their professional growth.

3. Expanding Ownership and Accountability

The role includes establishing value-added services and processes that shift routine testing away from business users and into the Business Delivery team. This expands the team's scope and influence, creating new responsibilities and career development opportunities for team members.

4. Driving Visibility and Recognition

By creating big and visible quality-related metrics, the manager ensures that the team's contributions are recognized by leadership. This visibility can lead to increased investment in the team and more opportunities for advancement.

As a Manager, you'll participate in major process modeling, analysis and design efforts. You'll manage activities and staff responsible for providing business performance, organizational design and business risk management capabilities to formulate pragmatic, forward facing and meaningful business transformation plans.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leads all activities relating to business transformation through the strategic application of people, processes and technology. Manages teams who participates in business planning by identifying complexities, dependencies and redundancies in the business model.
  • Leads team responsible for business process management and consultation. Acts as primary internal business product and process consultant responsible for communicating to customers, management and external sources.
  • Runs the activities and functions relating to consultation regarding business process analysis/design, organizational analysis, needs assessments and cost/benefit analysis to align technology solutions with business strategies and directions. Consults with functional groups within Nationwide Technology and internal business clients to develop short- and long-term business transformation plans.
  • Leads team responsible for identifying the critical elements of a business process that need improved. Leads individuals responsible for defining criteria of performance success.
  • Provides significant contribution in executing business unit level change.
  • Oversees the training of customers on business, technological, societal and environmental trends to support strategies for improving business performance.
  • Leads staff responsible for strategic projects involved in evaluating and researching new and existing products, procedures and/or workflow needs associated with business systems for the company. Team also evaluates new technological developments and evolving business requirements.
  • Leads the development of compelling business cases, including gaining senior management input, to accomplish business objectives. Identifies, assesses and mitigates business risks associated with the current operating model and/or desired target state operating models.
  • Manages associates, including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow planning, hiring and placement and disciplinary actions.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director/Associate Vice President; manages a team of six to ten direct reports.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information, business, mathematics or related field preferred. Graduate studies are preferred.

Experience: Eight plus years of dynamic experience in planning, designing and implementing company-wide business transformation initiatives. Extensive experience in functional, process, information and data modeling, data management and warehousing and applications integration. In-depth experience with process re-design methods and tools. Three years of experience in people management. Project management experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of standards, methodologies and frameworks, business process management and technology. Sound knowledge of a wide variety of tools, concepts and techniques of business process modeling, analysis and design. Expert knowledge of emerging industry, competitor, customer demography, regulatory and market trends. Understanding of new technologies and developments in the technology industry. Proven knowledge of the systems development life cycle. Extensive knowledge of project management concepts and techniques are required. Detailed knowledge of facilitation, performance management, organizational design and managing organization change. Ability to lead large sophisticated projects. Strong communication skills, ability to influence, apply innovative approaches, and deal with ambiguity.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and HR Business Partner.
