The State Water Project Analysis Office (SWPAO) is looking for a dynamically engaged, Senior Engineer with a can-do attitude to join its team. If you want to be a part of the State Water Project (SWP) team, we may have the job for you!
In this role, you will lead a team of engineers and analysts to reconcile and solve engineering related challenges using technical engineering skills, good judgement, and team-oriented collaboration. As the Manager of the Billing Support Unit, you will guide your team to navigate billing disputes from the SWP Water Contractor's. The work can be straight forward in the approach but are often complex with subtleties that require planning and a calculated approach. The work can be challenging but always rewarding and gratifying to find innovative solutions. You will gain a familiarity with SWP activities and understand how the SWP functions financially. You will interact with all levels of DWR, including Executive Management, to develop financial policies for long-outstanding billing disputes. You will lead and direct activities that support resolution of billing disputes and create positive partnership with the SWP Water Contractors and their auditors.

Applicants should have knowledge of engineering economics; SAP enterprise databases, Cost Allocation and Billing system, and database logic; SWP facilities; and SWP Contractors to perform the duties of this position. The incumbent must be persistent, with a keen eye for detail, yet can thoroughly document policies and processes and communicate complex issues in understandable terms. SWPAO is looking for a team player with critical reasoning skills and sound judgment.
