Overview

CentraState Medical Center has an employment opportunity available for a Manager of Bariatric/Diabetes Services. Based in the Novo Nordisk Diabetes Center, this position is responsible for overseeing operations across both Bariatric Services and the Diabetes Center. The manager ensures compliance with accreditation standards, drives quality improvement, supports program growth and patient engagement, and leads staff performance and development—all in alignment with CentraState’s mission and strategic goals.

 

Responsibilities
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of CentraState.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to the mission and values of CentraState.
  • Manages the duties related to the American Diabetes Association’s Quality Coordinator role and Bariatric Surgery Coordinator role as identified by Surgical Review Corporation and assures that reports and quality checks and performed as required. Develops, implements and monitors policies and procedures for compliance with the respective accreditation bodies.
  • Works in collaboration with Administrative Leadership to develop and implement program initiatives to achieve organizational objectives. Develops staff performance objectives based on identified improvement or developmental opportunities and aligns with organizational performance outcome objectives. Identifies Quality Improvement initiatives and reports accordingly.
  • Regularly evaluates programs, orientation, and identifies plans for improvement. Also, identifies opportunities to improve care, customer service and internal business processes.
  • Supervises, coaches and evaluates performance of direct reports.
  • Monitors monthly participant encounters to assure growth targets are achieved. Takes corrective action as needed.
  • Identifies opportunities across the organization to help close patient gaps in care, prevent readmissions and maintain the health of target population.
  • Consults with Medical Directors, Primary Care Providers and Specialists as needed to enhance delivery of care to patients. Promotes positive communication techniques and the ability to problem solve at every level. Develops relationships with and acts as liaison to physicians' office staff.
  • Responsible for recording, and filing reports, correspondence, and documents essential to team and service line functions.
  • Coordinates presentations for hospital, physician committees, and community groups as needed.
  • Assures revenue integrity and reconciliation according to hospital policy. Explores and pursues reimbursement opportunities. Serves as a resource to staff for regulatory standards. Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and unit

  • Works with Director to identify department needs for the annual budget process.
  • Ensures effective staff education, including orientation, focused education, and reinforcement education, to achieve performance outcomes for leading best practice and safe care.

  • 5 years of RD experience required.
  • 3 years of Bariatrics experience preferred.

  • Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.
