What is the opportunity?

Drive strategic capital efficiency and financial resource optimization across RBC's Capital Markets division. This pivotal role combines expertise in Balance Sheet management, RWA (Risk-Weighted Assets), Leverage ratios, and Capital strategy with data analytics capabilities. You'll transform reporting processes, unlock operational efficiencies, and partner with key stakeholders to maximize capital utilization while supporting regulatory compliance and strategic business growth. As part of the center-of-expertise, you'll deliver forward-looking analytical insights that shape wholesale business strategy and performance.

What will you do?
  • Enhance RWA and Leverage data reporting, implementing improved weekly reporting models and new analytical sources
  • Build Balance Sheet, RWA, Leverage, and Capital center of expertise to advise stakeholders on financial resource optimization
  • Advise business units on capital optimization opportunities and support implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Develop analytical models and dashboards to identify balance sheet growth impacts and exposure sensitivities
  • Lead planning, forecasting, and strategic reviews of Capital Markets balance sheet, RWA, and leverage exposure
  • Collaborate with Corporate Treasury, Finance Control, and Business Unit Advisors on RWA/Leverage analysis and reporting
  • Support Head Office and Investor Relations reporting on consolidated business results and impact analyses


What you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • Professional accounting/finance designation (CPA, CFA, or MBA)
  • 2+ years of Performance Management or financial analytics experience in a regulated financial institution
  • Expert-level Excel proficiency (Pivot Tables, Slicers, VBA debugging)
  • Intermediate SQL capabilities with proficiency in Python and TM1
  • Proven experience developing Tableau dashboards and data visualizations
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Capital Markets operations, RWA frameworks, and Leverage regulations


Nice-to-have
  • Experience with regulatory reporting and compliance frameworks
  • Advanced statistical modeling or forecasting expertise
  • Capital Markets business process knowledge
  • Previous exposure to enterprise financial planning systems
