Position Summary

Cambrian College's School of Skilled Trades and Engineering Technology has an immediate requirement for a Manager of Apprenticeship and Partnership.
Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Dean, the Manager of Apprenticeship and Partnership provide operational leadership for apprenticeship, employer engagement and work-integrated learning initiatives within the School of Skilled Trades and Engineering Technology. The Manager will also:
  • Lead apprenticeship operations, enrolment planning, and regulatory coordination activities
  • Monitor compliance with STO, MLITSD, and regulatory requirements
  • Build, develop and maintain strategic partnerships with employers, industry, regulatory bodies, unions and community organizations to advance apprenticeship and experiential learning opportunities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the School's Work-Integrated Learning (WIL), co-op, apprenticeship placements, and employer engagement activities
  • Implement apprenticeship growth strategies aligned with school's priorities and MLITSD planning
  • Oversee TSSA and certification examination delivery and invigilation
  • Supervise exam invigilators and support staff development activities
  • Serve as the liaison for industry partners, facilitating their connections with relevant contacts within the College as needed
  • Contribute to the annual notional planning process by supporting the development and delivery of apprenticeship training that aligns with industry demand, funding requirements, operational capacity, and the school's strategic priorities.
  • Manage apprenticeship and partnership events and initiatives for the School of Skilled Trades and Engineering Technology, including developing, recruiting, and maintaining strategic industry and community partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a 4 year degree in Business, Communication, Education or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and progressive leadership may be considered. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with the application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application).
  • 3 years of progressive experience in apprenticeship operations, workforce development and industry partnership development
  • 3 years experience with staff supervisor, regulatory compliance and operational planning
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong initiative, organization and time management skills.
  • Strong research and proposal development skills
  • In-depth knowledge of apprenticeship, post secondary and other programs
