ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Manager Analyst, Operations is a key member of the Operations team, serving as a critical bridge between financial analysis and operation oversight. This role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and insightful data that drives business planning, cost control, and strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of financial acumen and operations expertise, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

Salary Range: $120-$135K

Location: Rancho Belago, CA (Onsite)

Key Responsibilities

Financial Modeling & Reporting

  • Design, develop, maintain, and continuously improve sophisticated financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning initiatives.
  • Build and manage Power BI dashboards and management reporting tools that provide real-time visibility into financial and operational performance.
  • Collect, validate, and interpret large datasets from multiple sources to deliver actionable insights into material costs, operational performance, and other key business metrics.
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting in support of the month-end close process, including detailed variance analysis and management reporting in full compliance with GAAP and other applicable standards or requirements.

Business Intelligence & Data Analytics

  • Produce high-quality data analysis and business intelligence reports, including complex, high-visibility requests for both internal stakeholders and external parties.
  • Support audit requests and other special reporting requirements with thorough, well-documented analysis.
  • Prepare accurate, timely, and insightful analytics and observations for business leaders to identify opportunities to increase operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Monitor key operational and financial KPIs, proactively identifying trends, risks, and opportunities that warrant leadership attention.

Planning & Forecasting

  • Play an integral role in the development of the annual operating plan (AOP), working cross-functionally to align financial targets with operational capabilities and strategic objectives.
  • Prepare and maintain quarterly forecasts and a long-range financial plan, incorporating business trends, market conditions, and organizational priorities.
  • Partner with management throughout the business planning process, preparing periodic presentations on performance versus plan, highlighting key drivers and recommended actions.

Strategic & Ad Hoc Analysis

  • Serve as a trusted analytical partner to various business leaders, providing ad hoc operational and strategic analyses to support critical decision-making.
  • Assist with the development of meaningful reports and analytics tailored to the needs of business leaders, executives, the board of directors, and external stakeholders.
  • Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, concise narratives and presentations that are accessible to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Proactively identify process improvements and recommend solutions that enhance the quality, speed, and relevance of reporting and analytics outputs.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and lead a team of analysts, setting clear expectations, providing coaching and development, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and departmental excellence.
  • Mentor junior analysts in best practices for financial modeling, data analysis, and business communication.
  • Establish and maintain standardized processes, documentation, and quality controls across the analyst team to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Drive team performance through goal setting, regular feedback, and alignment with broader organizational objectives.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • 5–7+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, operations finance, or a related analytical role.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting both financial and operational functions, ideally within a retail, consumer goods, manufacturing, or supply chain environment.
  • Prior experience in a senior or lead analyst capacity, including mentoring or managing others.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas).
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports; experience with other BI tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.) a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms).
  • Familiarity with GAAP financial reporting standards and best practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL or other data querying tools preferred.
