Job Description:
As a Manager of Aerospace and Defense Product Engineering at MACOM Technology Solutions, you will be a key team member of the Product Engineering team responsible for the release of a diverse portfolio of high reliability semiconductor products into production.
The Aerospace and Defense Product Engineer’s role includes reviewing customer Source Control Documents (SCD), developing of Acceptance Test Plans, (ATP) to verify product performance to the SCD, the design of test and/or burn-in systems for automated test equipment, the statistical analysis of data using sound statistical methodology in order to determine Product Reliability and the generation of Data Packs associated the ATP to demonstrate products meet customer SCD’s.
To accomplish these tasks, the Aerospace and Defense Product Engineer will interact closely with Design Engineering, Test Engineering, Applications, and Marketing to analyze and resolve issues, as they relate to sample, pre-production and full production release of a product.
You will manage a team of engineers and technicians. A strong semiconductor product characterization, and screening to military standards background and the ability to collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines at different geographical locations worldwide are essential to the success of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a function or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.
- Leads others to solve complex problems; using sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
- Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
- Ensure the new product introduction is successful and on schedule.
- Ensure all aspects of product manufacturing, including hardware, documentation, BOMs and costing are in place for the production release of a product.
- Generate Acceptance Test Plans to verify product performance.
- Design/analyze test boards and/or burn-in for automated test equipment.
- Perform yield analysis and hold meetings of the project team to review the findings.
Qualifications:
- BSc in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent – MSc is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of high reliability screen methods and standards is a must, such as MIL-STD-883,MIL-PRF-38534/38535, EEE-INST-002, etc.
- More than 7 years of experience as a High Reliability Product Engineer in the semiconductor field.
- Knowledge of a wide range of RF semiconductor products including amplifiers, switches, attenuators, phase shifters, converters, and limiters.
- Exceptional team and communication skills to interface with internal cross-functional teams and subcontractors.
- Ability to analyze data using sound statistical methodology and effectively present technical information.
- Strong test measurement skills.
