Full Job Description
The Manager, Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable is responsible for overseeing insurance accounts receivable, denial management, claims follow-up, credit balance resolution, patient and insurance refund operations, patient billing support, and customer service activities for a growing primary care and specialty care organization. This role leads an internal team responsible for insurance follow-up and escalated patient billing inquiries while partnering closely with an outsourced Revenue Cycle customer service vendor.

The Manager, Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable monitors and drives performance across key revenue cycle metrics, including accounts receivable aging, collections, denial resolution, credit balance inventory, refund timeliness, and vendor service levels. This position collaborates with clinical, operational, compliance, contracting, and finance teams to optimize reimbursement, ensure regulatory compliance, improve processes, and support organizational revenue goals. Decisions are typically related to resources, approach, and tactical operations for projects and initiatives involving own departmental area.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or related field.
  • 6 or more years of healthcare revenue cycle experience.
  • 2 or more years of management experience.
  • Experience managing revenue cycle, accounts receivable, or patient financial services teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Biller (CPB), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), CRCR, or similar healthcare revenue cycle certification.
  • Experience supporting primary care, specialty care, or multi-site physician practices.
  • Experience managing outsourced revenue cycle vendors or call center operations.
  • Experience with Athenahealth or similar practice management and revenue cycle platforms.

Additional information:

This role will report to Associate Director of Revenue Cycle Management.

This role will not have domestic travel.

This role is fully remote within the US.

This role is a leader with approximately 10-15 direct reports.

Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana9s offices for training or meetings may be required.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$86,300 - $118,700 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
