The Opportunity:

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a full-time Manager, Accounts Payable, to support Mattel's Global Accounts Payable function in our North and South American entities. This position will be responsible for working with internal stakeholders, our BPO and external suppliers to ensure timely and accurate record keeping of all Accounts Payable transactions. Our mission is to deliver a world class service while continuously optimizing operational efficiencies and global standardization. This position will report to a Sr. Manager in Global Shared Services and will be based in our East Aurora office.

What Your Impact Will Be:
  • Own end-to-end Accounts Payable operations, controls, service delivery, and performance outcomes for the Americas region, including supplier onboarding, oversight of the full invoice life cycle, month-end close procedures, and monthly liability account reconciliations for approximately 10 legal entities for both 3rd party and Intercompany payables
  • Lead, coach, develop, and performance manage the Americas AP team, including workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development
  • Serve as business owner for Americas AP BPO (Genpact) service delivery, including SLA performance and KPI achievement
  • Accountable for AP-related balance sheet integrity, payment execution, cash forecasting accuracy, working capital impacts, and audit readiness
  • Lead frequent governance/stakeholder calls and provide training as necessary
  • Establish, monitor, and drive accountability for AP operational KPIs, service delivery metrics, and continuous improvement targets
  • Disburse payments, manage bank rejections/returns
  • Meet Service Level Agreements with our business partners
  • Comply with all Mattel's Financial Policies, SOX and Audit Certification tasks
  • Partner with Treasury, Procurement, Controllership, Tax, Internal Audit, other Regional Payables Managers, and Finance leadership to drive enterprise-wide process improvements
  • Establish process standards, and make governance decisions impacting AP Americas service delivery
  • Lead strategic AP transformation initiatives, including automation, ERP optimization, AI-enabled solutions, and process redesign
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships while providing high quality, efficient and courteous service


Qualifications

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years related experience in accounting, finance or a related field
  • Full knowledge of accounting principals, preparing detailed account reconciliations and balance sheet/income statement impacts
  • Strong knowledge of software including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams
  • Experience with large, global ERP/Financial systems-Oracle Fusion Experience preferred
  • Manage a high volume of work while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to research independently to drill down and find account discrepancies, identify problems, suggest viable solutions and make decisions within scope of responsibility
  • Excellent written, verbal & interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with people at all levels
  • Work in and support a team environment, keeping with Mattel's One-Team values
  • Ability to recognize opportunities to streamline and standardize global processes
  • Must be well organized, flexible and able to shift priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work extended hours during critical periods (month-end close, project go-lives, etc.). Ability to participate in global meetings that may be outside of US regular working hours.
  • Ability to travel on occasion.

*The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
