SJBH Salary Range = $106,000 - $130,000 - Depending on Experience

San Jose Behavioral Health is currently seeking a Manager - Accounting to assist the Accounting Department and our new 133-bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital, located in South San Jose. San Jose Behavioral Health is where adults and adolescents can receive comprehensive inpatient treatment for a range of behavioral and mental health disorders.

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Plan, organize and supervise the facility's financial support function(s), to ensure industry standards, as well as company policy and procedures are followed.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the complete flow of the business functions of the department(s) including proper recording of payments, changes and write-offs, proper methods of collections, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial documents and reporting.
  • Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Resolve difficult issues and complaints originating from any internal or external source.
  • Responsible for implementing departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal statues, hospital and accrediting agency regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of payer-specific rules and regulations regarding billing and payment for facility and professional services.
  • Check accuracy of business transactions recorded by others.
  • Manage department financial operations.
  • Analyze financial records or reports to determine state of operations and to improve financial management.
  • Prepare financial documents, reports or budgets, as directed.
  • Monitor flow of cash or other resources.
  • Preparation and submission quarterly and annual goverment reporting requirements to ensure the financial records are accurate and filed timely.
  • Assist in budget analysis and preparation.
  • Assist, monitor, and coordinate accounting and financial projects as assigned by CFO.Assist CFO with schedules, reports, audits, and projects per Corporate and othe agency's requests.
  • Serve as a backup for the Payroll/AP Staff Accountant when needed.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field required.
  • Four or more years' accounting experience preferred, in a healthcare setting a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Required.
  • Public accounting firm's experience are Preferred.
  • Strong accounting background, analytic skills and knowledge of GAAP are Required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel Required.
  • Works well under pressure and in a fast - paced environment.
  • High degree of attention to detail and multi tasking
  • Ownership and pride in work product.
  • Strong time management and organization skills.
  • Maintain strong work ethics and professionalism Required.
