Manager - MAINTENANCE (First Line Manager)

Main activities and responsibilities for these roles
• Manage your Maintenance organization against set safety, quality, delivery and financial targets by leading and coaching your maintenance team.
• Continue the implementation of Volvo Production System (VPS), which means to implement standardized ways of working, develop the organization, and achieve contribution from all employees
• Full accountability and ownership of your team's development, UAW relations, project follow up, midterm road map (0-1 year) and policy deployment from plant to operator level.

The ideal candidate for this position has a Associates Degree in a relevant field and five (5) years' supervision experience in a manufacturing environment OR seven years minimum combined education and supervision experience within a manufacturing environment.
Mission/ purpose of the job
As a Maintenance Manager, you will hold an important role in the Hagerstown Plant Organization. You will report directly to a second line managerial level referred to as an Area Manager. You will support the long term success of the Volvo Group and Hagerstown by providing leadership. In addition, you will be supporting the short and mid-term activities for your function and the plant to meet maintenance objectives. You will be responsible for safety, quality, delivery, continuous improvement, environment, people development and cost of the maintenance process as well as cascading and involving your team members in the business objectives.
Scope
Managerial position: Manager - Maintenance :
Responsible for the maintenance of powertrain components and assemblies (Engines, Transmissions, or Axles) supporting Volvo Group Trucks and Bus brands in North America. Depending on department, may include any or all of the following: machining, heat treatment, assembly, test, paint operations.

Managerial position: The Maintenance Manager: N-6 from Volvo Group CEO, Reporting to Area Manager

Essential educational and/or training qualifications and certificates
Associate's Degree and five (5) years' management experience in a manufacturing environment OR seven years minimum combined education and leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
Preferred experience and knowledge
Managerial position:
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment
• Experience working in a Unionized environment
• Knowledge of SAP (payroll/time management system)

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company's growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $96,000 - $118,500 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
