Qualifications

• ARRT Mammography Certification is required
• NYS DOH Radiology Technician License must be obtained
• Familiarity with Digital 3-D technology and Quality Control is preferred
• Completion of 2 years from an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology is essential
• Minimum 2 years of experience specifically performing mammograms is necessary
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on the mammogram procedure while ensuring their comfort and privacy
• Perform mammography exams following physician orders and complete all documentation
• Lead training initiatives for other Mammography Technologists in the division
• Produce high-quality imaging for radiologist evaluation
• Conduct quality control checks for mammography equipment
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols during procedures
• Apply knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology during patient interactions
• Ensure accurate positioning and exposure techniques for optimal mammography results
• Act as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team for communication and support
• Engage in ongoing education to maintain and enhance professional skills.
