Responsibilities

  • Educate patients on the mammogram procedure while ensuring their comfort and privacy
  • Perform mammography exams following physician orders and complete all documentation
  • Lead training initiatives for other Mammography Technologists in the division
  • Produce high-quality imaging for radiologist evaluation
  • Conduct quality control checks for mammography equipment
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols during procedures
  • Apply knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology during patient interactions
  • Ensure accurate positioning and exposure techniques for optimal mammography results
  • Act as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team for communication and support
  • Engage in ongoing education to maintain and enhance professional skills.

Full Job Description
Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Radiology Administrator, the Mammography Technologist will perform screening mammograms at Plaza del Sol Family Health Center in Corona, Queens.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • ARRT Mammography Certification
  • NYS DOH Radiology Technician License
  • Knowledge of Digital 3-D and Quality Control highly desired.
  • Completion of 2 years from Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • 2+ years minimum of related experience with mammograms
  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly desired.


Responsibilities Include:
  • Complete patient education regarding the exam, promote patient privacy and comfort.
  • Perform screening mammography as ordered. Completes appropriate documentation.
  • Acts as lead for the division in supporting training of other Mammo Techs.
  • Produce high quality films for the radiologist to evaluation.
  • Performs quality control functions related to mammography.
  • Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure technique.
  • Serves as primary liaison between patients, Radiologists and other members of the support team.
  • Participates in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence.
  • Perform all duties using proper body mechanics, including manual dexterity and fine motor coordination.


Starting Compensation:

Minimum $60.00 per hour; Maximum $64.00 per hour contingent on established years of experience practicing with ARRT(M) Licensure.

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:

Onsite, Corona, Queens Monday to Friday daytime schedule.
